Yay!!! I've only gotten a packet pick-up ticket for a few races, but when it came I was so excited.
I also think you're going to do so well. I feel like I haven't seen any posts from you about injury worries or being exhausted, so you must be kicking butt!
Our mail is still being held. Now imma think about this until next week
Bummer! At least you know it's waiting for you.
thom - no injuries (knock on wood), but holy cow am I exhausted. It's really been bad the last few weeks, so I'll add a multivitamin to the mix, and really rest up until race day.
Ya know, one of the reasons that I really want to run the race again, is that everything is such a blur.
I do remember really liking the section around the Lincoln Park Conservatory. (This was when I realized I am more of a scenic runner, than a big city runner.) The buildings are cool downtown, but I like how things opened up there, and it was so pretty! I remember liking Boystown a lot. They were lots of fun in that neighborhood. There are also some sections I loved that ran through neighborhoods of brownstones.
I also really enjoyed the South Loop area. Partly because, yay, you're in the home stretch. There was such amazing energy building as you made your way down Michigan Ave. Also, somewhere around mile 23, there was a great little group of spectators handing out really good beer. Everyone was passing them by, but I needed a happy moment at that point, and I booked it across the street to grab a cup. It was fantastic and they went nuts. SO.MUCH.FUN.

Boystown knows how to throw a PARTY. I was in a parade in that neighborhood my 1st year of college and holy hell! LOL.
My field hockey team used to cheer in the South Loop By then the fans are crazy and that's totally needed around those miles. I think I'm also looking forward to Chinatown, the drum squads! And dancing dragons! Wheee!
Photog whoring & Chinatown fun! The dragon is somewhere behind me.
