Oh, forgot to add an important detail: I never thought a half or greater would be in the cards for me because I had a pretty devastating injury in 2009 (3 spiral fractures in my left leg: 2 in my tibia, one in my fibula, plus a smaller ankle fracture). Its taken me a loooooong time to come back from that. I'm interested to hear from anyone who has dealt with something similar.
Rockstar! I don't have any advice, but I wanted to share how impressed I am!
Welcome! From one TTCer to another, I'm glad you decided to give a half a try now vs the spring! I've learned to not let TTC keep me from my goals. If I had, I'd have missed out so many goals over the past 5 years! Good luck in your half training!

Thanks! You're too kind You probably won't be impressed to hear I did this simply by slipping on an icy sidewalk lol.
HA! well that is super impressive yes; however your recovery is much more impressive. I hope you looked graceful while you were slipping. I fell while racing the other day and I am positive I was not graceful. The sweeper asked how he missed me fall.. I am actually grateful he missed my fall!
I eat greek yogurt before runs and races regularly, so maybe you just need some tweaks
Hey you! Thanks!
Perhaps it was more the 6 heavy beers I drank last night, not the greek yogurt lol. I'll try a bagel next week instead and see how it goes!
If it was as warm in MA today as it was in southern NY, that also was a factor. I did a 5K at 9am and the heat and humidity were crazy for late September!

In oct 2010 I was in a bad car accident that messed up my back. Laid up 2 months flat on my back, 4 more months with no relief on very limited activity and told id never run again. Today I hit the 1224 mile mark for this year alone. I've taken it one mile at a time from step one back in June 2011 after finding yoga which changed my life and got me back! I never thought I'd be here either! You are amazing to be back!!!!!
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
Wakefield seems more manageable than Danvers, send me the deets! I have plans this Weds, but I could probably make it next week! bostonmichellemelmel48lori19
I'll send you a facebook message with all the details.

I just sent scm1011 a PM on here as well. I didn't see Michelle's response here.

Yep it was 80+ today in Boston during my run, so that certainly could have been a factor. I also didn't bring any water so dehydration may have been an issue. I'm sooooo over 80 degree weather! (PS: my DH is from southern NY, Orange County, I love it there
Ha, I'm from Orange County! Grew up in Warwick. My DH and I live in Dutchess County now.

Welcome! I'm from Mass....near Brockton. Good luck on your half! The heat was brutal today...I ended up having to cut my run short because I was so hot (I went out in the afternoon after not eating or hydrating much this morning....)

Welcome and good luck! Sounds like you're well on your way to a great race. I'd be sick running in 80* temps, too. Hope the rest of your long runs end a lot better.
