I have to miss a run next weekend (actually all of next week). I ran 8 last weekend. The next three long runs are 9, 10, 12. I can do a long run on Thursday morning, then will miss one, then would have 12 the following week. Obviously jumping from 9 to 12 is a bad plan. I'm thinking 8 (done), 10, skip, 12? WWHFD?
This sounds like a solid plan. However, I've definitely been known to bump up 3-4 miles in my long run in one week if it needs to work that way. It's probably not smart to jump that much frequently, but if you're feeling good, workouts are fine, you could make it work.
