Friday: off Saturday: ran 3 miles Sunday: biked a hot and hilly 30 miles
Also, just being an AW and throwing this out there. My friend has convinced me to do brick workouts with her. Two weekends ago we did 22 mi bike/3 mi run. Last weekend we did 30mi bike/2.6 mi run. I couldn't believe how awesome I felt on my 3 mile run on Saturday! I felt so strong and I couldn't have kept going, if I wasn't crunched for time. Those brick workouts are definitely helping!
Firday: Off Sat.: Cyclocross Race Sunday: Cyclocross Race
How was the race?? Feel free to direct me to a thread if I missed it!
This was a double header weekend--2 races at the same venue but two different courses. Sat. was decent but hot. I had a good first half of the race and a blah 2nd half. Sunday it rained a little in the morning, which kept the dust down. I had a great race! I rode hard the entire time and was happy with my placing. I have a few bruises today, but that's normal after a cross race. Sunday was great b/c I was glad to be racing WITH people instead of getting lapped 3 times like last year. (I don't count last year as racing b/c of the 2 knee surgeries and hospitalization the week before cross season...)
I tried to run a bit in Montana, but LOLs for days, at this FL girl in elevation. It was GORGEOUS, though! It didn't help that my first two miles were downhill to the bottom of the ranch.(They felt great!) Suddenly I found myself having to climb back two miles up a gravel road (two steps forward, slide one step down). I also decided to turn around because I didn't know the area, and it suddenly occurred to me that I was the only one out there, surrounded by the sound of coyotes. Lots of deer too. I wish I had taken my camera on the run.
I also shot clay pigeons and did some horse mounted shooting. Some more hiking, horse shoes, eating & drinking. Ranch life suits me!
Fri: SO sore, so I listened to my body (which I never do) and took the day off Sat: Ran just over 4 miles, yoga Sun: Strength, core, and lots of stretching

F: Planned rest
S: 10 miles. And then I hosted a surprise b-day party for my H at a park. I underestimated the work involved in the setup. There were no parking spaces close to the pavilion so I had to lug all of the supplies (including 15 20-lb bags of ice!) through the grass myself. I was in tears and sweating like a champ even before guests started arriving. What was I thinking?? My fitbit recorded 30,000 steps before noon.
Friday: Was going to run 4 miles since my week-day workouts were non-existant last week due to DH working late and sick kids, but DS1 got really sick and needed to go to urgent care instead. FYI, he's on the mend now.
Saturday: Nothing...taking care of DS1.
Sunday: 13.1 training run. It was hot, and sucked after not running all week. Note to self, must do week-day runs. No more slacking!
Friday- last day of vacation so....sit on my butt, drink wine, read and eat cheese & bread :? Saturday- nada Sunday- 12 mile run. I debated whether I should be doing 12 one week before my half, but I made up for it by mixing easy trails in for half of it (i.e. very slow going).
