I was thinking about this today when I saw one of those CD holders on a visor in a car today. I haven't seen those in a while! It made me think, I maybe listen to CD's in the car every few months. I usually listen to Sirius XM but my receiver isn't working, so I'm jamming out to local radio now.
How do you mainly listen to music and such in your car?
For app users: radio satellite radio mp3 player CD's I require silence SS

Arguing and squawking when I have both girls Disney read along books or Frozen sound track when I just have H. So much talking when I just have D Satellite radio or music from our USB sticks - LOUD, because I can.
Satellite radio. We subscribed to Sirius when we had a 1 hour commute (each way), and they keep giving us such a good rate that we haven't been able to cancel even though we only have a 10 minute commute now.
For long car trips we have some kids cds that we'll listen to with B, but most of the time he could care less.
I'm only in the car for long trips, and I usually load up the WNYC (NYC NPR) app with a playlist of Radiolab, This American Life, and Moth Story Hour and stream that.
When I used to have a car and commuted (2002), I listed to a lot of books on tape and NPR.

Is this with kids or without? With them, Jack Johnson or Mumford and sons, or fucking Disney princess sons CD my husband bought and I hate with a passion, lol.
Without kids? NPR news radio or gangster rap/death metal on pandora lol
Radio or MP3 player. I modify what I listen to a bit when Maggie is in the car (no Eminem ), but we haven't ventured into kid music yet. She tells me she loves rock n roll, lol.
Radio until all the stations are on commercial at the same time, then CDs. I hardly ever change the CDs though. I have had the same 6 in there for a while. But when B is with me we can only listen to his kids' song CD (only certain songs requested) or Carrie Underwood (again, only certain songs).
