I have been lazy about updating my calendar since I switched to a half that was a week later, and now I'm all mixed up. I did 10 mi long runs two weeks in a row in September, then this week I did a 7.1 mi hilly race (I thought I was supposed to do a 10k race this weekend).
I have 2 weekends left; the 3rd weekend from now is race weekend. Do I want to do 11 and 12 the next two weeks? Or 11 to 11.5 and then a stepped down long run one week out? Help?
I can't tell you how it will pan out (half is next weekend), but I did a bit less than the HH Novice 1.5 plan had me do- My last 2 long runs will have been 10 miles, then 11 miles, then the race.
HH had me doing 11, 12, then race. Based on how my legs had been feeling I decided to shave a bit off the distance leading up to race day. I think I should have shaved off more, but I still have a few days to taper/rest.
