I use the wondfo cheapies. On CD9 I got a negative opk but was darker than the day before. I thought that it was going to be positive in the following days but the line was getting lighter. I thought I was going to ovulate super freaking early or something. I'm now on CD12 and the line was super light.
Has anyone had a test that looked like it was almost positive and then have subsequent tests lighter and lighter like you're nowhere near gearing to ovulate?
I normally get a positive opk between CD17-CD20. Last cycle was CD13. So the CD9 negative kinda confused me because it was close to a positive yet early for ovulation. I've had some cramping the last few days and last night noticed some CM. Not EWCM but just CM.
I would probably keep testing, given when you normally ovulate. Your body could have started the surge but not ovulated, or you could have ovulated early but missed the actual surge/true positive.
I use OPKs as a check with temping, but don't always catch the actual positive.

I've never gotten a true positive OPK. I've had a couple with varying degrees of darkness, always lighter than the sample. As a result, I go based on temps.
If you aren't temping, I would keep on trying OPKs and doing the BD until you are past your ovulation window based on past cycles. 9 seems very early considering your past cycle history.
