How often do you cash in credit card rewards?

We only use ours for flights. Sometimes we save them up for a year or two for a big trip but usually we cash them in 1-2x a year for smaller trips.

We'd been saving for about a year and a half and we had an insane amount of points (also included signing bonuses on both cards) that we used to buy our whole vacation - 2 business class flights to Asia and 5 nights in the Maldives.

Before that we'd just get our points sent to our United or Starwood account every few months.

I don't get a choice with my card. It's a 1% cash back and they cut me a cheque every January. It's good for the after Christmas bills.
