36+ hours of back labor...Update

Or pre-back labor with no progress. I have been sent home twice from L&D. Still at 1 cm. The pain is terrible. I cant sleep and they said this could go on for days. I don't know if I can do this for days!!!

Update: I called my doc. She prescribed me Tylenol with codeine. It didn't work so I called the on call about pain management. My contractions were 10 mins apart so I knew it wasn't labor but I wanted to know if there was anything they could do. She told me to come in and they would evaluate me for some morphine so I could get some rest. Got in, got checked and I am 8 cm!! Got my epidural and now I am waiting for baby!

OMG! you poor thing! I had back labor with my first and I feel your pain. Did they offer any suggestions for stretching or positions to help the baby fall into a more comfortable position for delivery?

They can't give you a good sleeping pill? I'm so sorry. Hang in there. Do you see a chiropractor at all? Could you get in for an adjustment? My chiropractor has adjusted women in early labor to help move things along. I got acupuncture while in early labor with DS1.

Have you tried any yoga cat/cows? Might help relieve some pressure off your back. I did these a lot in prenatal yoga when I was pregnant with DD.

So sorry to hear that! In my yoga class through the hospital they talked about doing cat/cows, and you can also have your husband apply "counter pressure" where he presses with the palm of his hand on your tailbone area when you're having a contraction.

Obviously I don't know if either of these work, but that is what was suggested in class! ha ha

Do you have any tennis balls? Your H can use them them help massage your back and apply counter pressure.
