It happens to me all the time. "Did you go to X high school?" "Are you related to Dr. So and So?" *to their friend* "Doesn't she look just like Laura's daughter?" Etc.

Yep. Everyone has some relative or friend who has red hair, and apparently I look like all of them.

No, but my H gets "recognized" all the time. We'll be out and strangers will start up conversations about high school or whatever and he's like, "have we met?"

Yes, I've gotten that since I was about 8yrs old. I remind people of others or I'm mistaken for someone they know. I always thought it was weird...and then one day I saw one. I literally did a double take myself. It was kind of disturbing actually.

I've been told that they saw me somewhere I wasn't numerous time.

Yes, very. And when I went to a FUNERAL HOME to pick-up chairs for a charity event (they loan them for free) the funeral director thought I was his long-lost ex-girlfriend, so he gave me this big, long, shocked pause on the back steps when he opened the door. It was super creepy. I never would have known why he was all weird unless he apologized when I returned the chairs.
