So....depending on what happens next, how likely do you think a travel ban may be? No entry into the US if your point of origin is one of the affected countries? Could that happen?

Airlines are doing this right now. British Airways and Emirates aren't flying to affected countries.
The more I read about this, the more pissed I get. So many stupid mistakes made, when we were promised "Ebola would never come to the U.S.!" and even if it did, our state-of-the-art medical system would prevent its spread.
This man wasn't even asked his travel history when he went to the ER the first time. WTF? They sent him home and then he was able to possibly contaminate everyone he's staying with. Now he's had contact with school-aged children?
I think we'll see an epidemic here. With air travel the way it is, now kids being possibly exposed, there's no way it ends with this dude.
Ok. Hold up. I just read that the sweat on someone’s hand can be enough to transmit? So say you are shaking hands with someone who is feverish, you can potentially be infected.
Jesus.
Honestly, every single medical professional he came in contact with during his first ER visit should be fired. How do they not ask “Have you recently traveled?”
Seriously you guys. If Nigeria can get this under control you are freaking out way more than is warranted. Your children are not going to get Ebola.
I would bet a lot of money that the second individual is the spouse, mother or daughter of the infected person. They should just rename it caregivers disease, because they account for most of the affected population.
@mx I appreciate your take on this and I'm doing my best to repeat pretty much everything you've said here over and over in my head. Logically, I know I have very little to be scared of, but it's good to reaffirm that.
This is also probably creepy and lurker-y, but you have always seemed to have a level head in past posts and I am thankful for your input here. It helps to keep the panic at bay.
CNN had a quote from Perry that said something like "there is nowhere better prepared than texas to handle ebola." So I'm thinking that they're just planning on shooting all the patients or shipping them to mexico.

Pump the brakes. We are far from an epidemic. How is anyone able to promise "Ebola will never come to the US?" That's ridiculous.
