Piano lessons for me and the older kids. I have always wanted to play the piano and you can get a piano for very little money nowadays because so few people play.
And if we can't do more travel because neither of us can find a break from work, upgrades in travel (esp. 1st class airline tickets so we can arrive wherever we're going somewhat refreshed).
Charity donations. I'd buy school supplies for the kids I tutor.
Way to make us all feel good about ourselves
This happened in a thread I started a while back about if you had to spend $100k now, what would you do. I was having a grand old time envisioning fun treats and then a few people (I don't remember if @sfgal530 was one) had to get all caring about less privileged people. And notice my first reaction in your thread was a way to spend the $$$ on myself. Which makes me think I need to try harder!
Last time that happened, we increased Calvin's 457b contribution a few % and we never noticed it.
If that's not following the rules, then definitely cleaning lady, and possibly yard service. I like working on my house, but I prefer improving to maintaining type work. Or maybe finally replacing my 2003 Jetta.
that's easy, we're starting the process to build a new house and the mortgage payment will be over $500/month more than our current.
if that doesn't count then I'd say a housecleaner, maybe a little extra in our eating out budget, a lawn service at the new house, and anything leftover can go to travel.
$600/month towards fancy car payments $100/month for cleaning service every month $100/month added to the travel plans for the year $200/month for supplies/materials/plants for DIY landscaping
In reality it would be really hard to pull the trigger on those things, but after a year of seeing the extra money coming in I might be able to!
Travel, for sure. Ireland, South Africa, and Australia to start so I can check off my "been to every continent" box. Then start revisiting favorites and seeing the standard European nations.
twice monthly cleaning service Lawn service Putting money away so DH can open his own IT consulting business vacation toward our million house projects
