Since GBCN is my market I thought I'd come here for help. I am finally doing something I have always wanted to do for 5+ years. I was a wedding an event planner for sometime but stopped to have babies in 2009. Since having my kids I have always had the itch to get back into the industry. I don't want to go back into wedding planning but I want to open my own event space. It will basically be a blank canvas for bridal showers, baby showers, networking events, art gallery, fundraisers, wine & paint parties, craft workshops, Sweet 16 parties etc. My target market is women. The idea is that it's strictly a rental space and comes with all the tables linens etc with your hourly rate. You can bring in your own food, catering etc. I will have party upgrades available for extra charge but I want people that are having events to feel like they can do what they want without all the banquet restrictions that are around my city. There is definitely a demand and I am super excited about it.
I haven't found a location yet but that is in the works. I have a business plan and still have a ton to do but I cannot for the life of me come up with a unique name. I want it to be feminine and incorporate the idea of a space, warehouse, Room, Pad, etc.
I want the design of this place to be very contemporary so that anyone can come in and design the room to fit their needs.
ETA: It will be decorated. I will have fancy lighting, decorated/framed panels that come on and off the wall. LOTS of versatility to take things down. But neutral enough that if left up, create a swanky vibe.
Names I've thought of so far: Ok most of these are terrible.
Presley's Place (My DD's name: She is what is inspiring me right now to do this.)
The Pink Unicorn (Again another DD inspiration. Unicorn being that it's a unique space.)
So exciting! I would not go with she space. It makes me think of the trans community which doesn't seem to be what you're going for.
Posh pad, roxy room, and anything with unicorn seem too juvenile for me to want to write on an invite to an event I would host, unless it was a child's birthday party. I agree that more details on the vibe you're going for might help us come up with ideas.

Can I ask why you're aiming to make it SO feminine? I get that showers are typically female-hosted and -attended events, and they may be a big part of your target market, but networking, art gallery events, fundraisers, etc. are gender neutral. I would be hesitant as a new small business owner to be so overtly gender specific. You're artificially limiting your target audience. Designing the space with showers in mind is one thing, but naming it such that a guy hosting an event there would seem downright odd, seems like it wouldn't be great for business.
I would also avoid some of the more juvenile sounding names. "The Pink Unicorn" might be a place for a 6 year old girl's birthday party, but not for most of the rest of the events it sounds like you'd like to cater to. It's great that your daughter inspires you to want to take this on, but I'm not sure naming it after her or her interests sounds like the best route to establishing your brand and reputation.
Were it me, I think I'd try for something a lot more gender neutral, and less frilly/girly. I'd also maybe identify the space before naming it. The space itself may inspire something.
I'd suggest making up a nice mock invitation for the type of events you want to do, and see how your name looks. I definitely hesitated in pursuing a couple of venues with cheesey sounding names, even for something like a shower. Presley Place is the only one that's ok.

Thanks for your feedback and you are right. A cutesy name would totally take away from someone wanting to do an art show in the space. I need to step back a little and wait until I find a space and see what inspires me.

I forgot to follow up on your question.
The vibe I am going for is swanky, hip, modern with some classic touches of femininity without being over the top girly. I will have stylish light fixtures and framed/decorated panels on the wall that can come on or off easily. I want the space to be versatile so that you can either show up with food and have a party with nothing needed or show up and transform it to whatever you envision for your event.
I vote for Phoenix Landing. It's strong, artistic, hip and elegant. At least that's what I feel when I hear it. All things I think you want to encompass with regards to who will use this space.
In my market, if you want to draw an upscale crowd, you will not attract them (and may in fact detract them) by putting "luxe" or "posh" in the name. A place just *is* (or isn't) posh/luxe -- if you try to hit me over the head with it, you're probably trying too hard to be something you may or may not be.
If your market is different, ignore me.
I would do a lot of research into what the upscale and hip (but not trendy -- you want to have a name that will last) clubs/restaurants/event space in your market and major markets in the US are called and would try to see if there are trends you can discern.
I wasn't trying to be snarky. I just meant that I haven't experienced that with those names here. And I genuinely DO appreciate everyone's constructive feedback. I have for sure nixed many ideas that I thought would work. Especially the advice to leave out the feminine element in the name. I honestly hadn't thought of that.

I agree with v, and I don't mean that as any kind of attack on you. I associate classy places with more polished names, like The Presley or Presley Place. Specifically using a positive adjective in the name makes it seem like it's trying to hard to convince people rather than it just being obvious that the place is fabulous.
Have you busted out the thesaurus to look up every possible word for space/place/warehouse/etc? Names are so hard, I feel like you're going to struggle for weeks and then one day something will just hit you and be perfect.

I totally have done this. I have used the online thesaurus and then finally decided to ask my GBCN ladies for ideas because I was stumped. I have learned a lot today though. I never thought of some of the things presented here about business names. Once I find my venue space I hope something will just click too, thank you!

Presley Place reminds me of Peyton Place (it's a novel and tv show).
I'd probably look at the history of the area and try and come up with something from there. For example, my hometown had the previous name of Stoney Creek. So I'd look to that for inspiration.
