I was team green with both boys. When SIL found out she was having a girl last month, I literally took over a small wardrobe for a girl. I didn't even necessarily want or think I was having a girl, but...sales! lol.
Also, probably flameful but when I was team green with DS1 at the shower I got a bunch of girl stuff "just in case". I slowly re-gifted a lot of it for quite a while. lol.
I bought both a boy and girl coming home outfit. I don't mind gender neutral clothing, but wanted the baby to come home in something special. I used the boy outfit and kept the girl one for a future kid. Worse case I'll consign it, dontate it, or give it at a girl baby shower in the future.
I probably wouldn't go crazy with a whole wardrobe, but if you find something special you love & can return it, go ahead! It just might be a pain in the ass to get to multiple stores to make a bunch of returns with a newborn.

I'm team green now, but I haven't purchased anything yet. I am going to go out and buy a going home outfit for each gender... better get moving on that!
I didn't - I had a coming home outfit for either a boy or a girl. I just figured I'd see what we got for presents/what I wanted to order once we were home. Turns out people love to buy girl clothes + several people had 0-3 girl clothes they were getting rid of.
I don't see anything wrong with buying and saving receipts, though.
I'm due in Feb, so I've bought a few cute summer things for girls that are 3/6 months. So far I've only purchased at Macy's, and I know they'll honor the return since I'm a cardholder

I didn't but wouldn't have a problem with it. We did buy coming home outfits for both sexes and regifted the boy one after DD was here. I would have kept it but we bought them in march or something and for some reason forgot that we'd be bringing the baby home in july... poor DD was in a too small terry cloth thing on the hottest day of the year!

No, all clothes we bought were gender-neutral with the exception of a pink hat and a blue hat to bring to the hospital. I was too lazy to return anything.
I didn't either. Maybe one thing that was gender neutral per kid?
I don't care about kid's clothes though. They're a dime a dozen, perpetually on sale and people love to buy them. Whatever I was given was fine until I get to the store for other stuff.
I did not. I appreciated how much money it saved me because if I had started that habit, that's a wormhole I would have never escaped! Obviously I've made up for lost time once my DD was born. I couldn't look at any more yellow or cream clothes!!
No, I was tempted to once but I did not, either time. I just bought a bunch of brightly colored/multi colored things. And then ordered a bunch online once they were born.
Yes, I bought some boy stuff. It is really hard to find cute boy stuff, so when I saw things that were my style, I bought them. (I don't have the same problem finding girl clothes that I like.)
I also bought a bunch of baby stuff when we were living in France and I wasn't even pregnant again yet.
I guess I am a horse-before-the-cart person. But, I know so many people with babies that it's easy enough to give away anything I don't end up using.

No, clothes are Always on sale. And this is coming from someone who loves shopping. I'd wait. It's just a lot of trouble. Plus why only girl clothes? It sounds like you're setting yourself up to be dissapointed
No, I waited to have my shopping spree until after DS was born. Even though we got a ton of clothes after his birth, they were all way too big for him so I went on a newborn clothes spree. It was a fun family trip a few days after we got home.

No. So far (34 weeks pregnant), I've purchased only one piece of baby clothing. I don't see much reason to go out and buy baby clothes, since we've received a ton. I also don't care for gendered baby clothes.
I found out with my previous two but am Team Green this time. I still have a pair of girl shoes I bought in Spain when I was 12 weeks pregnant with DS1 - I couldn't resist!
We think this last one is a boy and I have bought a few sleepers in NB sizes that are boyish but I would not mind putting on a girl. That's the one thing my baby stash is low on and there were some cute ones on sale.
If this ends up being a girl I will be ordering a few girl things right away (we live in a remote area - very little shopping here).
So yes and no on the buying gendered stuff. I think if I started buying girl things right now I wouldn't stop. Love my boys, will be thrilled to have another one, but boy clothes just aren't as fun as girl clothes.
