Those are good updates. When DS fell at 10 months they told us the first thing they assess in kids is their behaviour and if they're acting typical. Those sound like good signs!
Sending good thoughts your way. This happened to DS last year. So scary. He was fine. We had to monitor for possible concussion. Kids are amazingly resilient.
Thanks, everyone. Waiting for the results of the ct scan. That was really awful.
When the black male nurse came un to take his temp, ds broke into a dance and started screaming "happy!" Guess we watch a little too much Pharell in our house?
Sending lots of good thoughts and prayers your way! How scary, but it sounds like a good sign if he's up walking around talking and asking for snacks...I'll keep my fingers crossed he makes a quick recovery!
All is well. No signs of bleeding on his brain. God, that was petrifying. DH saw it happen, in slow motion, he said. Right after DS fell, he was unfocused and spacey. DH said DS didn't cry for at least a minute, which is what scared him so much. By the time we got to the ER, DS was asking for food and becoming more mobile, so we felt better. We had the option of going home and coming back in if his demeanor changed, but the little guy goes to bed at 7:15 and would already be sleepy. We couldn't imagine keeping him up and then spending all night debating-- is he tired? Concussed? Tired. Definitely tired. Maayyyyybe concussed.
So we asked just to do the ct scan right away. Can't wait for that bill.
DS did do a little happy dance. Then we went on a bear hunt and he screamed "bear!" Super loudly at one of the largest, most hirsute men I've ever seen. I was mortified, though I don't think the man heard. Later, we went on a dinosaur hunt and he pointed at the oldest nurse there, calling her a dino. I was all, "heh heh. Guess he's feeling better!" And then sprinted down the hallway.
Anyway, he came home, ate, and happily went to bed. We are still supposed to wake him every few hours. Thanks for all your good thoughts.
I fell on a sidewalk while wearing Freddie forward facing. I remember feeling absolutely awful in the ER while he smiled on, charming everyone. He was totally ok. The Dr. told me my nerves might never recover, but to be forewarned he was certain he'd see me at least 100 times before my kid is six. (We've been twice more already).
