If I have to scrounge for both DH and I, I try to keep a few things in my freezer - taco meat, pulled pork, some premade items I just have to bake like parm or tortilla crusted fish or orange or general tso's chicken. I also keep a few frozen veggie or veggie and rice sides around.
Rice and steamed veggies from the freezer - because those are the only things that we reliably have on hand even if I haven't been grocery shopping in awhile.
If not too hungry then cereal. If real hungry some pasta. If I know ahead I'll be on my own I may treat myself to some really nice cheeses from the local shop

Rotisserie chicken from the grocery store, and some vegetable that I can microwave or sautee. Sometimes I'll also do ramen noodles with the rotisserie chicken shredded in it, and throw in some spinach, carrots, and an egg to make like a noodle-y soup. But, I'm pretty bad, I can eat the same thing every day forever and not really get sick of it. When I'm super lazy I'll do cereal, but my grocery store stopped carrying my favorite cereal so I haven't done that as much lately. Cheese and crackers and pepperoni slices used to be a staple, but I'm trying to get away from that.
