Is Chickadee a thing in the States? Chickadee and Owl were big when I was a kid. Chirp appears to be the junior version www.owlkids.com/magazines/chirp/
Nat Geo has a version for kids (maybe multiple versions for different ages?). DD is 2.5, and she liked the one that I got to try it out. They have individual issues at my Barnes and Noble. I think I'm putting a subscription on her Christmas list.
My DD (she's five) is on her second year of Ranger Rick, Jr. She LOVES it and gets so excited to see it in the mail.
No parent experiments. Sometimes there is a QR code to scan and watch a video of what they are talking about in the article. (Her favorite are these wood ducks jumping out of a tree when they are leaving their nest for the first time)
