We have the opportunity to go to Bermuda the week after Thanksgiving. Our hotel (Fairmont South Hampton) would be covered as would all breakfast and a few dinners. It is for 7 nights but airfare is about $1700 from Houston. I know it is a reasonable trip for a nice vacation but it's not necessarily a trip we were planning on taking. Honestly Bermuda isn't on either one of our places to go but maybe it should be? We could use a vacation alone and would have a sitter. Any thoughts of things to do? We both enjoy the beach for a couple days but would like other activities as well.
I've stayed at that hotel and it's really nice, and Betmuda is beautiful, but it might not be quite what you want. That airfare sounds high to me, and Bermuda is expensive once you get there. Tourists can't rent cars so you'd have to cab into town for food, and if I'm remembering correctly that wasn't cheap. From Houston I'd imagine you could get someplace that will actually be warm for about the same price.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. Mark Twain
