I'm in need of some major help. My husband and I are planning a trip to Yellowstone, flying from Houston in early November. Any recommendations? We are planning on renting a car, but don't want to have to do too much driving to get to the park.
Any and all advice about traveling to Yellowstone would be so appreciated. I'm completely lost....
Yellowstone is 60 miles from Jackson Hole, we spent 2 weeks in JH this summer and went to Yellowstone a few times (and have been on other trips too) and it takes a little more than an hour. The Grand Teton park is amazing, we prefer it to Yellowstone. I don't think you can really spend time in Yellowstone without driving. We stay in Teton Village, which is about 12 miles or so from the town of Jackson, and we love teton village (it is where the 4 Seasons mentioned above is).

Did you do a trip or blog post on this? I'd love to hear about it! Especially BC I think DD is close to your kids' age.
We spent a week in JH last March. I can write more when I'm on a computer. You need to check when Yellowstone closes for the winter. Once closed the only way to get in to the park is by snowmobile tour. I highly recommend it, that was one of the best days we had.
We go to Jackson hole each summer for a week - my parents have a place there. I also worked in Yellowstone one summer. The Jackson airport is about 15 minutes to town and between 1-1.5 hours to Yellowstone ( drive through grand Teton national park to get there). Depending where you come from, you can also drive in from Bozeman, Montana, which if I remember correctly is about an hour north of the north entrance to Yellowstone. To really see it, you'll need to drive, but it's not an overwhelming amount in my opinion.
We stayed in JH and went snowboarding and skiing. We did the Yellowstone snowmobile tour. (Again I highly recommend.) We also did the elk carriage rides in the valley and the art museum on top of the hill by the elk entrance. We ate a ton of places: I agree with Snake River Grill. The Snake River Brewery had good sausage. D.O.G. burritos for breakfast before snowboarding. The Bird for great burgers and cool ice cream flavors. The owner sat with us awhile and gave us free samples. Gun Barrel for bison. There a a bunch of Thai places that are good too. Drinks at Million Dollar Cowboy Bar.
The shopping was really cool. I really love JH. I told H we should buy a second home there if they weren't so expensive!
