Well, after all that buildup I think Korina actually handled it pretty well. What do you think about the designers who are going through? I was surprised at how much the judges gushed over Sean's white look. I think it will either be him or Amanda who wins.
Im watching now. Yes- I think Korina handled it better than the clips showed. And she did JUST get eliminated. BUT. BUT. They all know how this works. They bring back eliminated designers to help. Maybe if Char didn't pick her look, she'd have been able to do it. But at the same time, that also brings us back to the fact that her anger is so, SO misdirected. She's pissed at Char. I LOVED what AManda said - Amanda who has been through this. The JUDGES elminated her. not Char. And this also wasnt' "Korina vs Char". It was Korina vs EVERYONE.
That's all I have to say at the moment. Still watching.
OK. So. What I find interesting - both Amanda and Sean's outfits make the models look "hippy" - hips. How many times do they blast designers for making women look bigger than they are? Overall - I like Amandas. But.... it was just SO MUCH.
I didn't get the love for Sean's. But I also didn't get the love for Sandhya's very first look that won (and I thought for sure she'd lose!!!). The judges loose me a lot.
The 2 outfits. Why? Totally not related. How do they really judge it? Or did they do it so that if their street chic look sucked, they could justify keeping a designer based on the remake??
Im not surprised Emily was out. She really never wowed me all season. For all thetalk about Char- she made more of an impact on me than Emily did. But I'll be STUNNED if CHar wins the whole thing. STUNNED.
I'm relieved to know that the reason Korina was paired with Char was simply because Char picked the outfit, not the producers trying to stir the pot. Even if Korina was still upset over the loss, this was the moment that she could have shown her clients that she was still a good designer. Isn't that what she was bitching about after her elimination? Way to show what a sore loser you are.
I liked Sean's outfit but I really hated his pink thing. I mean, WTF.
Kini's original plan was so nice, and then he went and added those dreadful ruffles to the bottom of that skirt. His dress was lovely, not my favorite, but still a vast improvement over the original.
Amanda's dress was NMS but still very her and, yes, I can totally see some woman wearing that in Soho. Her redo of Fade's look was ok.
I think that the designers this season are better doing the opposite of what Tim tells them. This season it seems like the designers who stuck with their vision were better off with the judges than the ones who listened to Tim.
I think it sucks that Emily was the only one who didn't go through to Fashion Week, but she handled her elimination a lot better than Korina did.

I can see what you mean, but I think the issue comes when they take Tim's critiques too far. Add a more interesting skirt does not mean make some ugly monstrosity.
I love PR, but the judging is mystifying. I couldn't see the reason for loving Sean's look. It might have been my TV. I loved the red gown! OMG, that was a vision. Char's outfit looked a bit of a hot mess. I was sure she was going home.

I was thinking more about the AG challenge and his aversion to fringe which the judges really seem to love this year. Char stuck with her vision and kept the fringe while Sean decided to listen and didn't and he was left with that unfortunate outfit.
I will ill say that I wished they could have created their own print -- that challenge was always interesting.

Agreed on all counts.
I am confounded by the love for Sean's white outfit, but the fact that Amanda was gushing over it in the workroom tells me I probably just don't understand what's trendy at the moment.
I adore Amanda, but you couldn't pay me to wear that giant burlap sack she created.
My husband and I complain about inconsistent judging all the time. I have no idea how the designers actually know what do.
Korina is ridiculous. I completely understand her feelings of upset at being eliminated, but she had a chance to redeem herself from her terrible behavior and she walked away from it. It was an incredibly immature decision and one that she will come to regret.

Iloy! I forgot about the burlap sack! I called it a Burkah, but you're right, it looked like a sack. What was to love? The colors are hideous! The shape is fugly. Here is a picture of it online, thanks to Tom and Lorenzo: Attachment Deleted
I don't understand why Korina agreed to come back at all if she just couldn't handle it. Do you think it's in her contract? I was also glad to see that the reason she was paired with Char was Char choosing the outfit, not the producers trying to make drama.
I don't think Char is strong enough for fashion week, but I'm glad she's going over Emily. Emily is a nice person but didn't ever wow me. She had some good ideas but something was always a little off in execution, usually in proportion. And she was obsessed with giant hoods - I had to laugh when she was like, "All season I've been wanting to make a big hoodie" - um, that's all you've done all season!
I think it was mean of them to tell her she was out right away and send her back. I think it would be much harder than to watch as everyone comes back excited that they get to go, and then they also have to awkwardly walk the line of celebrating but still telling Emily they're sorry - I think that was just bad. They should have left her until the end and told her then that she was out, so the other designers could have celebrated being in before she got back to the lounge. That was a bad move on the judges part.

I finally watched the eps. Hahaha. I agree with everyone about Char only getting Korina because she picked the outfit and not because the producers wanted to cause more drama. Can you imagine what Tim was thinking when Char picked that outfit, he knew what was coming next.
I'm glad and sad at the same time that Emily didn't make it. I liked most of her outfits and I think she'd do much better at FW than Char, but really all you did was make hoodies and all Korina did was make Native American themed outfits. Didn't they make a NA themed hoodie when they were a team? LOL
I'll say it again, I can NOT wait for the PR Special when they are all together in a room and Korina gets her shit handed to her.

I didn't even think about this. I usually fast forward through most of it (the drawn out drama embarrasses me on their behalf) but I bet it will be awesome!

I am also upset that they did not do the create your own print challenge this season. That was a favorite of mine.

Oh you are right?! I forgot about that challenged, but also always liked it. What a bummer. I think PR kind of sucks now anyway. I mean I look back on the first couple seasons and the designers were just so much better. There is rarely something I am stunned by now. I don't really get how the designers are just worse now, did they use to give them more time or something?
While they've always been given minimal time, I feel like ALL the challenges are now one day challenges. A two day challenge is thrown in here and there and they are happy. Where as in past seasons, I feel like they'd throw the one day challenge in to totally throw the designers.

Yeah, that makes sense. I just...the work from the earlier seasons was jsut amazing. I think i read somewhere that they had a lot longer to do their finale collections in the past.
Also, one thing that always annoys me is when the later people complain about not showing at fashion week when they get eliminated. THEY all get to show at fashion week, so shut your mouth lol.

I clearly remember they had a solid 3 months to do their collections the first few seasons. Now I think they get MAYBE 5 weeks?
And yes- more of them show at fashion week than the final 3 or 4 that we are told "make it" to fashion week.
