i haven't read it yet but the movie intrigued me. i'm all about empowering stories about women...maybe i'll read it before i see the flick. thanks for the reminder!
I read it! It definitely made me want to go on an adventure There were some things I could not identify with at all, but others I totally related to. I can't recall specifics since I read it early in the year but I really, really liked it. Definitely would recommend to anyone, especially someone starting over after the end of a major relationship.
Also, Reese is an odd pick for the film. She's WAY too old. I think Cheryl was early 20's, wasn't she? Somehow the story as someone in her late 30's (which is what Reese is, right? I think she's several years older than me...) would be different. IDK if it will ruin it, but I don't understand why they wouldn't just cast an actor who was the same age range as the character. It's not like there aren't plenty of decent 23 year olds to choose from.

YES! Cheryl was 26 at the time of the book. I thought Reese to be an odd choice.
I was also kinda surprised by the Reese pick, pretty sure it's her baby face...? Also, I can definitely see her fulfilling the liked a lot @ times/ annoyed the shit outta me sometimes (feel you on that, OP) role really well.
