"He hands the waitress a dollar bill crawling with death." Man, the way Captain Tripps spread was NUTS. It really is the way that people are thinking about ebola in the US (or were - it seems to have dialed down just a tad).
I first read that book early in college, and got sick. A friend of mine had loaned it to me, and when I told him I was ill, he started laughing and said he knew it, because it happened to him and everyone he knew. The power of suggestion, I suppose.
