I want to know how people got invited to that food festival at MoS. It looked like so much fun.
I think the elimination Quickfire is kind of weird, since the "challenged" chef isn't competing for anything except pride. Couldn't it be gamed, if the losing chef chose a friend, and the friend bombed on purpose so their friend could stick around? I wouldn't think it was fair either, though, if the challenged chef was at risk of being eliminated. So overall I'm just not sure how I feel about it.
The first episode is always kind of hard to follow since there are so many chefs and so many dishes.
I think it shows how much sway Tom has vs Padma that pork belly guy did not get put in the bottom 3. I bet if Tom got that fatty piece, he would have been on the bottom.
I didn't want to like Richard as a judge, but he actually has a very interesting POV as a former contestant. I kind of hated him on Top Chef Duels though, so I am still not 100% on board.

I thought the challenge after the quick fire was weird too. It was kinda cruel.
They aren't holding back the critiques during the "eating" part either. Not sure if I like that or not.
You would think that they would have at least watched past seasons and thought hey lets do something other than a salad. Your salad isn't' going to be soooooo good that it'll be considered a main dish, unless it lobster salad, and then it's still considered a sandwich. LOL

I got into this one much quicker than usual. I was pretty happy that Mr. Ego was eliminated so quickly. I liked Richard more than I thought I would but he seems pretty harsh. Since he's been in their shoes, I would have thought he would be a bit easier. However, I'm just thrilled that his mouth isn't doing that weird twitch that it was on Duels!
I can already tell that I'm going to spend this season being bitter that I didn't get picked to go to any of the events.
