I've always regretted being "practical" and going with white when my mom was buying me one from Costco YEARS ago. I had the option of Empire Red, White, or a grey and even though Empire Red isn't my favorite red shade of theirs (only one they had back then), I'd rather have red than white.
Mine is just plain white (it's also old enough that I don't think they were making it in colors at that time. I bought it out of the pennysaver 9 years ago), but it lives in a cabinet.
I'd love to have both a pretty color AND somewhere to keep it out.
They came in four colors in the 50s. In addition to white I have seen vintage mixers that were pale yellow or a weird green, but I have no idea what the fourth color might have been.

Pink, yellow, green, and chrome, starting in 1955. Prior to that it was white only.

Learn something new everyday. Mine is old, but not pre1955 old. Ive never seen one of the old ones in color. I feel like ive missed out!

I forgot about pink! I had kind of forgotten about chrome too, at least when I was trying to think of the four colors. I had thought about chrome last week when I saw the new color because we were talking about metallic colors/finishes when I showed it to DH.

Interesting! It's neat the way even smaller appliances follow color trends of a particular decade. Most of the colors are fun, except the puke green fridge my mother had for nearly 35 years. She finally got a black one last year. Those vintage KA's are the coolest though.
I had a fun color on our wedding registry - I can't remember now what it was. But I ended up receiving a plain white one and I was strangely bummed out, lol. Then my mom got a chrome (matte finish) one the next year and traded me - yay! I haven't used that thing in like 4 years!

I have a chrome, but lately I've been coveting the copper. Though, mine was a wedding gift from my grandpa that passed away right before my wedding so I'll never get rid of it.
My sister just got the apple green and it's freaking adorable in her kitchen!
I use my kitchenaid at least weekly. I am super OCD about what is "worthy" of counter space, though, and so it lives in a cabinet when not in use. For that sea glass, however, I have to keep it out all the time. The one I have is the "Imperial" black, which means it has a matte, bumpy texture that doesn't show dust and fingerprints the way the glossy ones do.
I have the Imperial gray. I do love the lack of fingerprints and the industrial feel, but I had considered a decal or painting a design, which would be weird with the texture. Now that DH's aunt gave me her white KA, I do have one that I can do something fun with....I just need to figure out what I want to do. ;p
