I dreamt that I got promoted at my job and at my "secret" job at the same time. Why does my subconscious think I need more jobs/responsibility? At my secret job I was VP of Emerging Communications. At least I give myself cool titles.
I rammed by almost healed broken toe into the bouncer supports this morning. Sonofabitch. I just need to wear shoes at all times.

SallySparrow we didn't have an 18 month regression. So maybe you can skip it too!
DD slept until 9 this morning! I went into her room to make sure she was still breathing! Man, my heart stopped when I woke up and realized how late it was. She's likely working on teeth, so I don't know how she slept so well, but I'll take it happily!
I do not feel like doing any of the cleaning the needs to happen in preparation of this baby shower I'm hosting next week. My bff and I were super excited to throw it and it's turned into a giant mess and I'm just resentful that we are having it at my house instead of a restaurant like we discussed when we offered to throw it.
I want to cry One of my pugs has been sick the last month and despite going on new food and 2 antibiotics a week ago he seems worse today. Really loose stools, breathing heavy, all shivery and sad I wrapped him up in a blankie and we are snuggling on the couch. I just wish they could figure out what is wrong with his stomach.
I went to the beach this weekend and saw a Janie and Jack store at the outlets. I've only heard about this store from here. They have some nice clothes. I bought L a few pieces. Definitely a store to shop from when they are having sales.
M has been awesome the past few days. Ok, he was up four times last night, but the first two times I was able to easily soothe him back to sleep. After I fed him at 5:30, he went back to sleep until 8:30!! And he has been taking two good naps a day. I think that getting into a specific routine has made all the difference in the world. He starts yawning when we go in the nursery! Y'all, I feel like my sanity is slowly returning.
And, as a bonus, he's so much more pleasant and adorable when he's awake. (Knocks on wood furiously as I know it's only a matter of time until his next growth spurt or wonder week!)
I'm so happy you've found a groove! Hoping it continues for you.
Now tell me all your secrets, lol. I've been meaning to ask what did Moms on Call say? We're still in nap hell over here.
I had a dream last night that @supergreen, @marshmallows and I were all neighbors in a tiny farm town. @supergreen had a pet lion that kept raiding my fridge.
cricketwife let me go see what size mine are. We never used them and every time I see them I think they are too big for non walkers so maybe they'd fit your guy.
ETA: They are 18-24 months. I can take a picture if you're interested.

We are home from our wedding weekend. DS was the ring bearer and he did really well, despite the flower girls taking off without him for the walk up the aisle, haha. He looked adorable and we all had fun. I'm tired, I think we'll all sleep well tonight. DS got his own bed in the hotel room, so hopefully that didn't set us back any in him getting used to his big boy bed here. After two weeks off, DH has to go back to work tomorrow. I don't know who is going to be the saddest, we've all liked being home together.

NQB, aw,that's really sweet of you! I'm hesitant to commit without being able to try them on, which was why I was looking in brick and mortar stores today. The size chart suggests that he'd be in 12-18 mo, but it's a question of whether they will give enough in the width.
this is uncharitable but has anyone else noticed sometimes really attractive parents have unfortunate looking babies? One of the prettiest women I know IRL has a one year old who is just not very cute. It is like her unique features overwhelm her baby-ness.
In contrast I think average looking parents often have the cutest babies
Yes. I think the inverse is true. I know a very unattractive couple who had a beautiful baby. She's growing out of it though I was afraid since DD was so cute as a newborn it meant H and I were fug
I'm trying Fresh 20 for the first time tonight. I am sure none of this passes authenticity muster with msniq, but if it means dinner can be made quickly on a regular basis I may not care. This tuna poke bowl smells amazing.

I seriously messaged our consultant and told her that she was magic. Lol. Things aren't perfect--many naps I have to go in and soothe him once or twice, he's still fussy in the evenings, etc. but it's SO much better. The main thing we've done is to create a routine. It's similar to The Baby Whisperer, if you're familiar with that: eat, play, sleep, rinse and repeat. I swaddle him, put him in the crib, and turn on the white noise machine at night AND for naps. She also showed us how to swaddle securely. I think we're in the last month or so of swaddling M because he's starting to break out of them. For now we make it work by swaddling with a blanket, then putting a SwaddleMe over it for extra security. Since this provides so much warmth, he'd only in a diaper underneath. If he wakes up in the MOTN or before nap time is over, the first thing we try is to soothe him by rubbing his belly and making "shhh" noises. We don't expect him to STTN yet, so if that doesn't work then I'll nurse him. I am hoping to get to one wake up a night, but we're still at two for now. I make him stay in the crib for at least an hour for baptize, returning to the room to soothe him when he cries. We've been averaging about two good (1 hour plus) naps a day, plus two shorter naps. I count this as a win because I've been able to catch up on laundry, dishes, and even start in ha baby book! Bonus is that he's been much more pleasant when he's awake. Before, he was usually crying if he was awake. Now he'll frequently chill in the Mamaroo for awhile without fussing. We walked to a festival for about two hours today. He slept in the stroller for about 45 min and was just chill the rest of the time. I don't think he cried at all.
Another big change for us is that we've been bathing him every night. The main reason for this is to engrain a bedtime routine. It really has helped him go down more easily at night. Since he gets a bath every night, it's super quick: we brush done oil onto his scalp to help his cradle cap, wash it out with baby shampoo, and just rinse the rest of his body. (I use wipes to clean up his privates thoroughly just before the bath.)
I don't want to make any big pronouncements after four days (lol) but so far, things are going great. I wouldn't ignore him if he were giving feeding cues just because it wasn't "time" to eat, but so far he's seemed satisfied by the schedule and he's making plenty of wet diapers.
rbp thanks so much for the info! I started trying to follow a similar routine but B wakes up after 10 mins no matter what. I'm really going to work harder at soothing her at nap time and being consistent with where I put her down.

She may need to be a little older? IDK, MOC recommends starting a schedule as early as 2-4 weeks, but we didn't even try it until 10 weeks. I had tried "putting him down for a nap" at like 8 weeks and he did the same thing as B. It was really frustrating. Are you swaddling and using a white noise machine for naps? Those things plus soothing may have made the difference for M.
Oh nice! It was our first time there and it's a nice beach. I could definitely see ourselves going back.
We were down there this weekend and it was BEAUTIFUL! I love the fall.
jenn248 and chickens987 we went to the park in Milton (after stopping at the Dog Fish brewery ;-)). It was a great park! Kind of a hike for you Chickens but since there aren't any great parks in RE I have a feeling we will be hitting up quite a bit in the off season.
rbp she's only 7 weeks so it might be too early but I'm so frustrated that it's worth a try. We do swaddle and white noise for naps as well as night time but I need to work on her being in the crib for naps (I'll worry about night later) and not just picking her up and sticking her on the boob when she wakes up crying.

Thanks, good to know! One of my best friends lives in Milton (walking distance to DFH, actually), so I'll have to check it out the next time we visit.
