I went to a Gap store yesterday to use the coupon. Some stuff in the store was already 40% off, and some 30%. They rang me up and then I presented the 40% off coupon on my phone but they wouldn't stack the discounts- stuff that was already 30% off the bumped up to 40, but no additional discount on the 40%. I was annoyed. Was I wrong?
RAAGE. The woman at the store was such a bitch- she basically laughed in my face when I asked why I didn't get an additional 40% off the purchase. Now I have to go back to the store. I hate shopping.
The store prices don't always match online prices though. I would repurchase online and just return the in store purchase.
I would do the same. Online codes don't always work the same in stores, plus I wouldn't want to argue with a bitchy employee if I can just get the stuff online.

I just finished returning the items. When I showed the saleswoman the online price vs. the in store price, she just shrugged and told me to order online. Since I have the Gap card it get free shipping, which the company will now pay for. It doesn't seem to make fiscal sense for them!

Jeez. Was this the same bitch or a different one? A little "I know, it stinks when online and in store stuff works different. I wish we had more control over it!" goes a long way.

Nope, different associate. They must deal with this issue all the time and are clearly over apologizing about it.

I went yesterday as well and they took 40% off of everything on top of the instore discount.
