I did my 5th cyclocross race of the state series this weekend. I got top 10 and got in the money! I was so happy! It wasn't much, but it paid for lunch!*
*This race has a big sponsor and usually pays more $$ to the winners and pays deeper to more racers that our usual published, standard payout.
nichelobesassystace -- SO happy for you ladies! You both did something incredible. Not just today, but through all those months of training. Congratulations on 26.2!
osulori -- Ummm, yeah. Totally Sub-2!! By a TON! Congrats on an awesome, strong race. Congrats to you bluedaisyus too. You did it!!! Now get in here and AW.
I got my sub 2 HM (1:53:54) so I'm pleased as punch. bluedaisyus killed it today too!
I have no doubt nichelobe and sassystace did too, I just looked up bluedaisys results bc I know her name
Haha, thanks! I'm really happy with how it went! I'll post a full race report tomorrow because I am SO TIRED and should be in bed right now, but I met my A goal (barely, but who cares!), which I was doubting up until I hit the halfway point and realized I was on pace to do it.
Congrats to all! I got a massive PR in a 5k. 23:47. I am not that fast! I don't know how it happened, especially since I did 8 miles yesterday morning, but I am so happy I nearly cried lol. My old PR was 26:23!!
I had an awesome race this weekend too. I PR'ed my half (1:55:57) by about 12 minutes over last year, and broke 2:00 with way more room to spare than expected. I am also really pleased with how evenly I split it:
There were a few that were slightly faster or slower when I had a hill to go up or down, but otherwise that is really consistent for me. I can do that for days in the pool, but I am less skilled at pacing in running. It started to hurt around 11, and I was pretty much toast at the end, which tells me I picked the right pace.
Calvin had a good first half too, 2:07. That was faster than either of us expected for him! I also finished with enough time to get back to the finish line with my phone to take a picture of him crossing the finish line.

This is pretty phenomenal. You have mad pacing skillz - Well done!
I'm going to say I killed it because I finished. I was doing well, keeping a good pace, but my hip took an injury at mile 17 and that was the end of my pace goals. I hobbled the rest of the way, but I finished, dammit. I really really didn't know if I would. That said, I'm totally proud of myself. I wanted sub 5, secretly hoping for 4:45, and I got 5:19. Evs, I'm a marathoner!
