I have one teeny tiny closet for coats that is only about 18" wide and not deep and would not fit my winter coats. I am redoing my small entry way and which will look similar to this when it is done (but only about 3 hooks wide and not yellow) but I don't want the whole thing filled with my winter coats. So I had the great idea to convert the walk-up stairwell to the attic into a closet. Since I have a full basement, I don't store anything up there and if I did need to get up there, it's easy enough.

After: I hung an old shower curtain on a rod across the opening and put a piece of cardboard over the top to keep attic dust from landing on my coats. I installed a $10 rod and added an old carpet runner which made the steps a great space for boots and a basket for gloves, scarves (which got cut off but is on the bottom step).
