@tambcat since I think you have both!
Bear with me on all my thoughts on this! there will be about a 2 yr age difference between dd and the new baby Dd will be 25-26 months when the new baby is born. We currently use her stroller a lot, and I know this will change as she gets older. But I still anticipate needing a double just to wrangle two. We also go on Dailey walks with our dogs.
For dd we use the uppababy vista. I know you can add a rumble seat, but it don't see dd realistically wanting to sit in this. Also I think I will add a skateboard for when she's older, but I think at barely two she would sometimes still need to sit. I don't want to sell this stroller as I love it as a single and still want the single option.
So, it seems obvious I would want the city select which I think has a lot of advantages.. But dd is tall and I swear those seats seem small compared to her vista seat. Currently she only weighs 22 lbs so it's fine weight wise. It's appealing both seats fully recline, huge basket, similar to UPV, but I'm not crazy about the way it steers with a heavier kid in front and it might be good for shopping, but not great for walks or festivals. It seems alot heavier than the vista and just not as smooth. Plus does it seem stupid to hold on to the vista if we have this?
So the city mini double is appealing because it's fold, and sbs seems much easier to push. Also smaller in the car. But would it be annoying for neighborhood walks. And the small basket after having the UBV!
Or do I want a bob Dualie, great for walks, festivals! But it seems huge!! Where would I store this thing? Is it huge folded up?
Thanks for your help!! Oh I know I have plenty of time, but city select is having that free second seat event, so I've been thinking about it
Out of the strollers you mentioned I only have the city select. I like it a lot besides it's heavy to lift. It pushes and steers fine for me even with my 24lb 2.5yr old in front. I use it a lot- walks, malls, disneyland, shopping, etc. the seats do seem a bit short but I haven't had an issue
I do use it as a single sometimes when the older one walks or I wear the baby.
But I feel like if you have the UPV you might be better with the city mini.
DS will be almost 2.5 when the baby is born. He is tall and I've seen even average sized kids his age look like they're too tall for the City Select, so that eliminated that option right there. I found a CMD on a mom2mom site in perfect condition and am excited to use it. We have a CM single that we still use with DS and he still has plenty of room in it, so I think I'll get a few years out of the CMD
chickens987 I know I saw that! I so wish I had the updated version but I don't know if I can stomach the $900 price tag
I'd totally be able to justify it...sell the single, use that $$. Plus it's not like you're buying much gear for #2 since you have a lot already
We'll that's a good point! Hmmm some thinking to do ! I think you're right though, it's the perfect answer. How much do you think UBV go for on Craigslist? None are currently listed in my area
