While trimming his nails. I took out a pretty big chunk - on call nurse said neosporin and pressure. Bleeding has stopped but wound is still very red. Do we need to take him in somewhere?

Awwwww. I've nicked L's finger a couple of times. Distraction and putting some cool water on it helped and she got over it more quickly than I did. But I've never classified it as "a pretty big chunk," just a nick. I would think if it's not bleeding, you're fine - keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get infected. Thankfully, they heal quickly!
Aww, poor baby and mama. I'm sure he's fine, it's good that it's not bleeding any more. I would just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get infected.
Aww, I did that too when G was tiny. Literally took a tiny chunk, poor thing bled forever. But some snuggling helped. We did some Neosporin and put a tiny bandaid on it with a new born mitten over her hand. After a little while the bleeding had stopped and she was totally fine. I was told once, that it probably bothered me more than the baby, and she won't remember.

Big hugs. I clipped a chunk of DD's finger when she was about a month old. I sobbed for over an hour. DD was totally fine, and her finger healed up completely. I did, however, have to get rid of the onesie she was wearing at the time, because every time I saw it, it reminded me and made me feel guilty all over again
Nope, no bandaid. (Well, maybe if you kept a mitten on his hand, but that would probably scare me too much that somehow the mitten would come off and the bandaid would be exposed.)

I've done that before. It bled for a while, but she didn't even wake up! I put neosporin on it and a bandaid while I was awake. I took the bandaid off when I went to bed.
