Ds2 is 2 months and I can lay him down at night and motn drowsy but awake and he puts himself to sleep (not as often during the day). Ds1 was not like this at all and always had to be rocked to sleep and placed down very carefully so he wouldn't wake up. We ferbered at 8m to get him to sttn because he was still eating 2-3 times at night.
All that being said, if your baby could put themselves to sleep at an early age, did they sttn early?? Give me hope!
Yep, DD has been an easier sleeper from the beginning and while I wouldn't say "early", she's sttn without as much brute force as her brother required and also did things like only wake once much much earlier.
C has always been a good sleeper. He's been putting himself to sleep for a while. He STTN from maybe 2.5-4 months, then we hit the 4MW and he's back to waking up 1-2 times. He almost always goes back to sleep pretty quickly. I don't think we necessarily do anything different or special, we just got lucky.
Yes. She was down to one wake up a night around 3-4 months, but we night weaned easily fairly early (7-8 months) and she has been sleeping 12 hours a night ever since.
Fingers crossed!
Well this sounds fabulous!! We have a decent sleeper, but even I think twelve his a night sounds wonderful:)
I'm of no help bc mine didn't put himself to sleep early on.
I don't want to burst your bubble but my second was an incredible sleeper from the start. He slept 10-12 hours a night until 3.5 months then something happened and his sleep never recovered. Now a good night is two MOTN wake ups and I have to rock him to sleep each time. He is 6 months old.

Yes. Both of my boys were like this and were very good sleepers. My 2yo still is a great sleeper and the 6 month old looks like he'll keep it up as well.
DS was able to put himself to sleep around 2 months and slept a 9 hr stretch. Around 4.5 months that stopped and he hasn't been a great sleeper since. Getting to sleep hasn't really been a problem but wake ups have been. At 19 month he STTN most night but def not all.
Ds2 seems to be going this route. Drowsy but awake bedtimes are not a myth like I thought. He's 2 months and sleeping 6-7hr stretches most nights. Eta : I know the 4mw might still ruin everything like it did with ds1. But ds1, even as a newborn, was difficult to get to sleep even though he sttn early on. So I'm hoping this difference means ds2 will come out of the sleep regression less permanently wakeful.
Yes! DD has been a great sleeper from the start and she still is at 15 months. She was down to about 1 wake up at 3 months and no wakes ups around 5 months or so. She went to bed easily as well. Naps were another story, and we had to do some sleep training for her to get a good nap in later on, but nights, she was always good to us.
N was pretty good at falling asleep by himself from the beginning and started STTN at about 7 weeks. He's had maybe ~15 nights of 1-3 wake ups in the past year (just turned one).
