Iho the Tieks post. Not Tieks, not Tory Burch, not Payless. Black leather with minimal adornment. I bought a pair if Vince Camutos last year and they were awful. Not comfortable and totally torn to pieces after 3 months of use.
Nine West tend to be my favorite flats. I ventured out and got some clarkes and I can not wear them for longer than an hour without wanting to die. My favorite pair of Nine West flats has been comfortable since the first day and I have worn them a lot for at least three years now.
Not a ballet flat, but they are cute. I got a pair of Clark's flats at their outlet store the other day and they are SO comfortable. The puffy part on the back of the heel is amazing. www.clarksusa.com/eng/product/valley_lounge/26104101

Ugh, I am jealous. My ballet flats do not have a cushy heel. Even with band aids I am dying.
OP, are you looking for ballet flats or something else?

I like the Born stowaway II ballet flats, and they have some arch support. I think my teal 'snakeskin' pair are more comfortable than the black ones for some reason, however.

I'm also looking for very plain black flats (pointy toe, not round ballet style) and not finding anything I like.
Oh, correction, I've found one pair that completely fits the bill, but they're Chloe and $600. I found some Tory Burch ones that are ok, but I'm not paying $250 for OK and I have an irrational hatred for Tory Burch.
I usually like Nine West, Gap, and Banana Republic shoes but they are all failing me now.
I'm aware this will make me sound like a 65 year old woman, but I have a pair of Dr Scholl's ballet flats that I love. They're in the $60-70 range but I found them at Burlington for around $25.

I was just going to plug my black Dr. Scholl flats. I commute in them and they have held up great. They are so comfortable! And better than sneakers.

I got some Dr Scholl's from DSW that are really cute and comfortable, maybe they are the same...
