A is almost 5.5 months. My mom babysat for a few hours on Saturday. I had 2 -4oz bottles. He only drank 3.5oz the first time and 3oz the second. Does that sound right? I'm sure at this age X was drinking 4-5oz bottles. I wonder if the reason he wakes up so often is that he's not drinking enough at each feed.
Although she took a bottle Delaney barely drank anything when I was at work. Like sometimes 1oz for a few hour period. It was like she drank enough to hold over until I was back haha. Also he might just be adjusting. When we first switch Rhys to a bottle (although it was formula) he only took 1-2oz at a time now it's more but only like 2-3, sometimes more
I've been sending 6oz bottles for William to daycare for about a month. He drinks 18oz the 9 hours he is there and eats from me at 6ish, 730/8 (sometimes he'll take both sides a few times before bed), then 11ish, 1 or 2ish, 4ish and 6am. I'm trying to drop the 11 feed.
I have no idea how much he gets from me and I do wonder if it's just not enough and maybe that's why he keeps waking.
the other night we were out and when he woke at 11pm my MIL gave him 6oz and he guzzled it right down.
it all confuses me. I wish I knew. Like boobs were hooked up to a measuring device and after each feed my iphone boob-app would tell me how many ounces he just ate.
Olivia never took more than a 3 oz bottle of BM, even when she was close to a year.
This for G too. Daycare once asked me to increase the oz per bottle but then I noticed how much they were wasting. She only actually ate 2.5 to 3 oz per feeding.
Matilda took 4oz bottles (so 3 x 4oz bottles a day) and there was many a time she didn't finish them.
I could count on one hand the number of times william hasn't finished one of his bottles. He's very different to her. As a result he will be getting formula probably starting in about 2 weeks. I just can't keep up with him.

Have you started any solid foods yet?
We tried rice cereal for a week but had to stop. It didn't help his sleep at all, just made him super constipated. We see the pedi Thursday and I'll ask her.

this is us too. I send 12oz of pumped milk, three 4oz bottles for 8 hours. She does about 3oz in the first two and barely touches her afternoon bottle. She waits for me.
wasted breast milk is so depressing
but if you send 3oz bottles she'll decide she's hungry that day and they will be like "hey can you send bigger bottles she seems hungry"

I would say maybe oatmeal would be better but then he might react to that. Is there such thing as gluten free baby oatmeal?
I never sent more than 4 oz bottles to daycare the entire year both were BF'd. I would typically send 4 and come home with 2 bottles, sometimes 3 (especially with her). I sent less with Katelyn because she refused the bottle until 6 months old (I did nurse her at lunch and before I left the center at pickup/dropoff). We never pulled out the 9 oz bottles we had.

Will they let you send in smaller bottles? In the beginning while Katelyn refused, I would send in 4 one oz bottles since that is all she would take until I got there at lunch or at pickup. You could do two 3.5 oz bottles and a one oz or so. I also kept frozen 2 oz bags there if they needed to defrost and use it. While they weren't allowed to put fresh in a bottle, they were allowed to put frozen in the bottle once it was thawed.

They don't sell gluten free oats in Canada, only wheat free. I react to it if I eat too much of it. I may try some with A and see how he does. EnchantedSoul posted a recipe for homemade. I'll see what the pedi says Thursday. I know for X she told me to avoid grains for a long time. Maybe if I stuff him up with some avocado he will sleep.
