I don't know your backstory (so I don't know why you would be flamed). But a different therapist, different meds, psychiatrist, alternative medicine eg accupuncture, etc.
Are you seeing a psychiatrist? Let him/her know you are experiencing continued depression/anxiety. They might want to switch your meds (how many have you tried? It can take lots of experimentation to find the right one) or increase your dose. What kind of therapy are you doing? It may need that you need a therapist switch as well.
Hugs. I know how frustrating it is to navigate mental health stuff.
I am seeing a psychiatrist. The depression seemed to have taken an evil down run about 2 weeks ago. I've just lost hope already. I'm seeing a therapist that specializes in anxiety/depression issues.
Hopefully tweaking your meds will help. It can be really frustrating finding the right meds and dosage. Hang in there. In the meantime, maybe try an exercise program or a project that you can work on that you would enjoy that would focus your mind.
No flaming here. Keep trying different combos of meds with your dr. Sometimes it takes a while to fine the right mix. In the meantime I would up my exercise. The endorphins will help a little while you are waiting.

Yeah, switch it up, Scar. It's almost unheard of to get the exact perfect fit right away. So switch therapists &/or meds, but I'd definitely take it one @ a time to see. (Probably start w/ AD's, but your PCP might have a better opinion on that.) Good luck, dear, & good for you for recognizing some tweaking needs to happen- now just follow through, which is always the tough part.
ETA: How do you feel about your psychiatrist? Have you discussed this with him/her?
You just have to keep trying different combos. Are you happy with your therapist? Sometimes the right person is all it takes. But other than that, different meds/dosages make a huge difference. I'm sorry your current plan isn't working for you.

Unless you've tried every single AD on the market, you can't really say that "ADs don't work."
When I went through my second bout with serious depression in college, the magic formula for me was an AD + an anti-psychotic. It may be something to ask about.

How many meds have you tried? Please don't feel hopeless. You'll find something that works, but it may take a bit to find the right solution or combo. Do you feel like your therapist is actively working with you on strategies or is it more "talk therapy"? I know I do best when it's results-oriented.
In my lifetime I've been on pretty much any single new drug on the market. This year I've been on 3 different daily ones with 2 different ones for some in anxiety (think xanax)
my therapist is very much a strategist. We talk about what my issues are and then we come up with ideas to conquer

I don't know your back story so its hard to throw out advice.
Have you thought about an IOP (intensive outpatient program)? It could be a chance to work on some of the underlying issues as well as sort out your meds situation. More and more insurance policies are covering them. Additionally, insurance is more likely to cover inpatient treatment if you have gone through an IOP.

Yes my ex did that after attempting suicide and it was wonderful. The 5 days a week, 8 hours a day of therapy really did wonders for him.
For the people asking about back story - i had a craniotomy to remove a brain tumor this past May and moved halfway across the country shortly after that. We were already in the process of moving when the tumor was discovered.
I would talk with your Neurologist and see if he can work with your psychiatrist to find a possible solution. I think with your history, it's a lot more complicated than just trying different meds. You might need more specialized care.
My neuro and my psych are in the same practice (md Anderson) They are in sync. And he deals with cancer/tumor patients all day. That's one of the main reasons i am hesitant on changing providers to a local one
You already got some great advice. I would also look into some other types of therapy (music, dance, art), that might surprise you and help you find a great way to work through some of your feelings, especially the anxiety.

You've gotten some good advice. Be very open and honest with your doctors about what's not working for you, and press for more treatment options. Sometimes it takes a while to hit on the right AD. In the meantime, keep yourself active and set goals, make sure you're eating well, etc. Good luck!
And be completely honest with your therapist. He/she can't be much help if you're lying about or keeping stuff from him/her.
Mental health is a delicate flower and it takes a long time to get perfected. There are a lot of options and medication and practices that you can use to help, but it all takes time. Medications shouldn't be changed quickly and take time to work.
What do you do when therapy and ADs don't seem to work?
i know im probably opening up Pandora's box for a flaming here, but i really need help.
Thank you
You'll get no flamings from me! I never know if my standard advice makes people feel better or feel worse, but if you've tried and anti-d for a while (they can take weeks to kick in) and you've tried adjusting the dose and when you take it (morning vs night, empty stomach vs with food) then try another drug and tweek that dose. And keep trying. It literally took me years to find the right one (for me, effexor) and I even know that if I take it at bedtime I'm still sluggish when I wake up, and if I take it in the morning I get dopey by the end of the day, so I take it in the midafternoon. Keep trying, though, really. It. Is. So. Worth it.

Is your therapist a CBT therapist? If not, that's the way to go. If he/she is, then you have to let them know that things aren't working and perhaps up the number of sessions per week.
