I need new winter-y shoes. I have riding boots and rain boots, but other than that I mostly only have ballet flats and a pair of Toms. I don want to wear boots everyday and my feet get cold in the flats. What kind of shoes do you wear during the fall/winter?
PS: I know this is a very stupid question. I haven't lived anywhere cold since college and I mainly wore sneakers then. But I hardly ever wear sneaker now, mostly because I feel like they look weird on me with skinny jeans/pants, which is mostly what I wear.
What is the climate? I just bought some super cute leather Frye flats. If there is snow on the ground I pretty much just wear boots or booties. Do you have booties?

Arkansas, so it's gets cold-ish (I'm from New York, and it doesn't get that cold, but by next month it will be in the 30s when I'm taking DS1 to school in the morning) We get ice/snow 5-10x/year, but it hangs around for a while because no one shovels or plows.
My footwear is pretty much confined to boots and flats/ heels. I just can't do clunky shoes. I do have some shortish motorcycle boots similar to the Uggs posted above that get the job done when I'm not in a riding boot kind of mood.
I wear ballet flats, Toms, Sperrys, and loafers/driving mocs year round, plus boots in the winter. I don't have any particularly warm or wintery shoes besides boots.
I just got these short ugg boots that I like. Warm and easy to chase a toddler in!
I want these! Are they comfortable? Can you tell me anything about them so I can search them online and buy them? Style name, where you bought them, anything.

They are very comfortable! They have sheepskin lining like other uggs, but the outside is waterproof, which I really liked. And they have a zipper on the inside so they are easy to get on and off.

How do these run width wise? I have wide feet and sometimes find shoes are too narrow for me.
They feel a little snug on my wide feet. They definitely feel more narrow than regular uggs in the same size. I'm hoping they'll stretch a little as I break them in.

I live in PA and wear Sperrys for most of the fall/winter, except for the days with new snow. Probably not very practical but they are comfy and easy on/off.

I live in the upper Midwest and am struggling with this too, particularly with skinny jeans. Riding boots / booties are NMS, agree with you about regular running sneakers, and I have a pair of Sebago loafers (like Sperrys) that I LOVE, but I think they are more for spring / summer (same with TOMS). In any case, we probably have one weekend left here before I won't be able to wear shoes without socks.
This year I'm trying a few different things and hoping I can find something that will look okay with skinny or straight jeans: Minnetonkas (or Bass / Fitzwell); Eddie Bauer (leather) and Timberland (suede, but the sole seems more sturdy than the first three).
In the fall/winter I wear Frye boots, gold sparkly flats, TB flats, and for my casual look I just added these Steve Madden sneakers. I mostly wear them to kid soccer games and birthday parties.
