I know, tall order. LOL! I'm flying on the company plane in 2 weeks and at the very least I'm flying with my VP and a few other important VPs (they don't usually list the names of those higher than VP but it looks like there are multiple important people on my flight). What can I read that won't make me look super intelligent and would be a good conversation topic should someone comment on the book? #yesimoverthinkingthis

Do you like baseball? I think Moneyball is a good one because it's pretty easy to digest but is kinda nerdy. I could even send you my copy.
Looking at my bookshelf, I'd suggest Wordy Shipmates by Sarah Vowell (irreverent take on America's founding) or Gang Leader for a Day by Sudhir Venkatesh, which was a sociology grad student's account of hanging out with a south side Chicago gang.
I've been disappointed in the intelligence and goodness of many higher-ups I've met. And they always like talking about themselves. Don't overthink it. You're awesome regardless of what you read.
I Am Malala is interesting, timely and relatively uncontroversial.
I was going to recommend this, too. It'll be fairly easy to work into the conversation since it's timely with her Nobel Prize, and it's an easy and enjoyable read.
A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson will also give you a ton to talk about, even if you only finish part of it before the flight.
Garfield at Large. You could discuss the tense relationship between Garfield and Nermal.
I kid! I kid! I'd just find something that interests you. You'll look a lot better talking about something you actually care about vs. something you could give two shits about.
