DH and I are going to be in holiday pictures this year (I think...we usually rotate every other year kids vs whole family). I usually do dressier pictures, but I really don't want to spend a fortune on an outfit for me and the dresses I like are $$.
I was thinking this top might look ok with leggings for a more casual picture? How would you style it to make it look more feminine? I am sorry I do not know how to PIP.
I also liked the idea of this with tights, black booties and a dressy belt b/c it is more neutral and would give me more options for my kids clothes. The dress is affordable but I don't have booties so then I am going to end up spending more money www.modcloth.com/shop/dresses/too-clothes-to-call-dress
But I REALLY love the anthro one and anything else will be a sad substitute lol! The plaid one is SUPER different for me! I have never in my life worn plaid, like seriously ever so I am trying to think outside my comfort zone...and be cheap!
I just bought that flannel shirt today (in gray/white) and planned to wear it with my leggings and boots but haven't tried it on yet. I think it will look good for casual pics but the dresses from modcloth are super cute too!

I think the flannel would look fine with leggings as long as it's long enough. I would probably do the blue buffalo instead of the red and black- the red and black is so trendy and popular that I think it would look dated quickly. I think if you did that shirt with a cute necklace on the outside of the collar, it would look great in pics.
I have that ON flannel in grey/white and wear it with black leggings (5'4 and it covers my bum just fine!)and grey booties. I also bought this $14.99 scarf from Target to wear with it so it amps it up a bit:

I would style the flannel shirt with a vest if you have one. Something like this (could substitute the herringbone for a plain black quilted vest also)
Or something like this (I like the necklace)
If not leggings, I'd do black skinny jeans and either heels/booties or boots. You could even belt the vest with a skinny black belt if you wanted.
