I did really well at it. I did best with meetings because left to my own devices, i say fuck it all around 4 pm when I've used all my points and plan to "start fresh" in the am.
I lost around 35 lbs before I got pregnant with DD.

How long did it take for you to lose it? I don't think of be able to do the meetings.
I lost the majority of it between December 2010 and July 2011 - so about 7 months? I had a back injury in there too, and always ate most of the extra points and still drank alcohol, ate desserts, etc. You could probably clean it up more than that and lose a little faster - a lot of people in my group lost faster than me, a lot were slower.
Portion control was my biggest issue. Getting a food scale and measuring/weighing out what I ate and eliminating mindless snacking were key.
I've had good success when I am feeling it and sticking to it. When I don't track I don't loose. I'm thinking of joining again but I'm kinda eh about the meetings, lots of Olds in this one and I don't want to spend the money. We will see how it goes over the next month with loosing the baby weight and if it stalls I'll join.

OMG, that's why I quit. I could have lost another 25 more, easily, and my nighttime meeting got cancelled. The morning meeting they kept was like senior citizen happy hour at 10 a.m.
I tried it again after DD was born and quit after a month because the leader was old and all the old people in the meeting were giving me a migraine. It was a 8-minute detour every week with inane questions like, "Wait, Phyllis, *I* count my powdered oatmeal as 3 points for a 1/3 c. dry serving. Why are you counting your COOKED oatmeal as 4 points?" "Well, Lynette, I made my oatmeal with milk. Did you use 1% or skim?" over and over and over.

I lost 18 pounds in five months and that was a lot for my small frame. I followed the points very closely but also had wine and desserts. It's my favorite program and I now am up five pounds (but maintained for two years so I still consider it a wild success).
i lost 50lbs a few years ago, i stopped going and 15lbs has crept back on. i want to go back but i don't have the money. i really liked it and i have to have the accountability to stick with it, i wont hesitate to go back once i have the money again. but yes a great leader it key for good meeting
I joined in March 2013 without telling anyone. I lost 60 pounds by October 2013. I am still overweight for my height(5'1 and 1/2), but I am only 10 pounds away from normal. I have maintained for one whole year without points or really trying. I may pick it back up in November to beat these last ten pounds. I have not worked out a day in my life(minus gym class back in the day).
I did WW online. I have done it in the past, NS, and Jenny Craig in the past with little success. This time, I did it for me and no one else. Prior, I was too worried about how people viewed me being fat(well, obese!)

Good for you!!!
I also found it easy to maintain without points once I had established better habits.

I go to meetings. If you are interested in meetings you have to find a leader and a meeting that fit for you.
I lost 60 lbs between June 2013 and hit my goal in May. I don't count points for the most part and follow the simply filling method. I like the weekly accountability of getting on the scale.
I'm a 93823492347 time WW dropout. I've done both meetings and online only. Personally I only had success with it when I went to meetings. Otherwise it was easier to cheat. If you don't plan to do meetings, I suggest doing something like My Fitness Pal at first to see if you will track your food and weight regularly. MFP actually does a lot of the same things WW online does, minus the points system.
And the best luck I've had with losing weight has been watching my carb intake. If I keep my meals to less than 40 carbs a piece I lose weight more than trying to watch calories or points. I also do better with that method because I can eat a lot of protein and feel fuller than if I were to try to eat based on points.
I'm thinking of joining again but I'm kinda eh about the meetings, lots of Olds in this one and I don't want to spend the money.

A decent meeting is the key.
OMG yes. My meetings began to feel like torture. It was the only time I could make after work too. It was so freeing when I finally quit! The best meetings I've been to were when we had a leader come to our office before work once a week. It's hard to get a group together like that though unless you work in a large company. We had to pool people together from a couple different companies and it was still hard to get participation.
I did it before getting pregnant and lost about 10-15 which was what I wanted to lose.
I've tried it a few times since having DD and they've all been a bust. Even when I stayed on plan I wasn't losing. Maybe I didn't stick with it enough...
What I'm doing now is MFP and Bikini Body Mommy videos on YouTube. Both totally free and I'm seeing results. I have been slacking for the past two weeks and I can tell with my clothes and how I look so I need to get back on track. I think with any of these programs the key is to stick with it. Easier said than done, I know!!

I've done it before pregnancy with great results. Just joined again but bought a $4 knockoff app since I know the program and just wanted a tracking/calculating app. If it doesn't work I will resume official WW and attend meetings.

It worked for me to lose a lot of the baby weight. I quit when I was within 10 pounds of my pre- baby weight but the scale has crept up a bit since then.
Low carb also worked for me for the couple weeks I did it, but I love my carbs too much to quit them entirely.
It worked for me. I just did the online version. In 3.5 months I lost 25lbs and my husband also did it (he is still doing it) and he has lost 45lbs. I think it works because you can still eat what you want you just have to use portion control and not overindulge.
What I liked about it was that even if you had used up all your points and you were still hungry, you could still have an apple or banana or other 0pt foods.
DH and i are doing it right now. I wanted to lose about 10 lb, he's looking at more like 70. We're both losing reasonable amounts of weight, improving what we eat, and cutting down drastically on snacking. We do it all online, no meetings, and it's worked out well.

This for me too. I've done WW a million times but I really loved my "at work" meeting the most as I knew everyone in it and it was genuinely supportive! Alas, participation was an issue for us and we needed 12 to stick with it but we couldn't get that number. We had an open house for our building but only a handful came but never joined. It's a great idea but it's hard to get participation
Did you ever go over your allotted points per day? How many pounds were you trying to lose?
No, I mostly stayed within my allowed points.
I need to lose probably 30 more, so a total ~50.
I've used them before and lost 30 lbs with a lower starting weight. The online version has a points calculator for your phone and they have a lot of items in there, which makes it easy to track, and be honest about it.
I have had success with it in the past and really need to join again. I need to go weigh in at the meetings to be successful, but I didn't always stay for the meeting because I don't want to listen to old people drone on about their food. But something about going on the same day each week and stepping on the scale with someone watching motivated me.
I always cheated after the weigh-in. I can't survive without a freebie once a week.
