Not lately, but we got some not-bad-looking ceiling fans on Black Friday a few years ago at Home Depot. I don't know if that's an item they have yearly, but they're nice Hunter (or Hampton Bay? I can never remember who carries what) fans that were half off.

Thanks, this is a great tip! I've never seen black friday deals on them before, but I guess I've never really looked, either!
We installed this one from Lowe's with an extension down rod in our living room, and I love it.
We have this fan in our master bedroom, and I really like it.
For or our living room we used this fan, it looks nice, and works well, but I'm greatly annoyed that we cannot wire in the fan to work off a switch. It's off the remote only.
We just bought 3 Hampton Bay Trusseau from HD and I'm fairly obsessed. They're SO much nicer than I'd anticipated, and they replaced 20+ year old previously-white-but-tar-stained fug fans. I just keep staring at them and turning them on and off like a child lol
I had a creepy brass and oak model in my library. It was a high end Hunter and ran really, really well.
I painted it with Rustoleum "hammered black" paint and flipped the blades to rosewood. It looks great and saved me the hassle of spending money on a fan and electrician. And it still runs silently.
Have you been to Furlong Lamp on Rt. 202? They have amazing fans there.

I was hoping you'd chime in with a local suggestion! I'll check it out. Ours are really beyond salvation. Fairly hideous and H has damaged a two of them in the process of installing the new flooring and now they spin a bit funny. Our fans aren't currently connected to switches and I want them to be, so we're already paying for the rewiring and the electrician is going to change out the fans gratis.

Astro Lighting in Fairless Hills on Rt 1 is worth a look, too. Last I was there they had some special stuff with prices to match.
