Essentially, if you're consistently conservative or consistently liberal, you probably annoy your friends and family by talking about politics too much.
I am LOLing at the idea of distrusting the USA Today.
It's sole purpose is to provide a protective coating for hotel guests to wrap their newly acquired local microbrews in.
I remember seeing years ago that USA Today is the most widely-circulated newspaper in America and wondering WTF because no one reads it. And then I realized, "Ah! Hotels." I guess I trust its news, I just don't think it's very interesting to read.
I always get a kick out of the section with a small news blurb from every state. Alaska always has a story about a wild bear roaming through Anchorage.

Good thing we have each other to annoy so we don't drive off friends IRL.

I also love how everyone is so trusting of local news people. Maybe because they're always the ones reporting on happier news like cats getting rescued from trees.
But then again, they're also the ones to report less happy news like this:
Don't liberals preach tolerance and acceptance?? (actually they say they are more tolerant than conservatives) Why are they the largest group to defriend or drop someone because of a political difference? Sounds rather intollerant and elitist to me.

This is stupid and tired, even for you.
If I drop a "friend" who is conservative, it's not because we disagree about social security or tax rates. It's because they've said something so racist/sexist/etc. that I don't even think they should be part of the human race, let alone one of my friends. An actual example: "White people need to take back this country."
Also it's kind of ironic that so many people distrust Al Jazeera America because IME, it's a better source of news on many topics than most American news outlets. I would agree that it's somewhat biased when it comes to topics like the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but for most things, it's actually great.
But then, I wouldn't expect most Americans of any political persuasion to be capable of getting past the SCARY TERRORIST name.
I don't distrust NPR or PBS. I do listen (in short spurts) to some "liberal" talk news because I do like to hear all sides of an issue and actually consider both sides. I do the same with Fox News (in shorts spurts as well) because even I roll my eyes at most of it.
I do listen to few other (local Boston) conservative talk radio shows though.
Are you referring to npr and pbs as liberal? Or are you saying that you listen to them in addition to liberal leaning sources?

Actually one of my biggest beefs with liberals is that they tolerate too many opinions that they shouldn't even entertain.
We shouldn't even still be arguing about providing people basic healthcare regardless of income, or achieving educational equality, or whether women deserve equal pay. And we certainly shouldn't still be arguing over whether racism even exists anymore considering every statistic ever. I'm still trying to explain to people the definition of privilege and that it doesn't just mean you came from money. I reallly feel like a lot of this should be settled by now so we can get to fixing things.
