Do you have Amazon Prime? If yes, what do you use it for (in general)?
I just signed up for the free trial so I could get free 2 day shipping on a vacuum. I am trying to figure out if it will be worth it to keep after the free trial is finished, and also how I can best utilize it. Do you use the video streaming? Thanks!
I never use the video streaming, but I have "rented" books for my kindle before.
I LOVE amazon prime. I added my mom, MIL, and BFF to my account so they can take advantage of the shipping as well. (They can't do the video streaming since they are just added to an account, but that's nbd for them.) I split the cost with my MIL and mom so that helps make it cheaper for all of us.
I buy all sorts of stuff on there. Toilet paper, pantry goods (mainly GF things), a lot of gift shopping, books, etc. For me it seems worth it.
eta: I use Netflix for video streaming, that's the only reason I don't use it on amazon.
I love our Amazon Prime. It's worth every penny. We get the student discount so it's even better. I also couldn't imagine not having it, especially around the holidays!
The streaming is alright. I have used it a bunch, we do not have Netflix so I use that and other online streaming sites.
jjwritergirl I haven't heard of the Kindle lending library program. I will have to check that out also!
I don't have Prime but based on these replies I'm going to have to look into it. I make a lot of purchases on Amazon, so it would be pretty useful for me.

I love having prime. My H has a side business so he uses it a ton for the shipping. I also order from amazon quite frequently. I've used the streaming video, but not a ton. I use prime music. I use the Kindle Lending Library. For us, it's worth it for the shipping alone, especially around the holidays but through the year as well.
I love Amazon Prime. I still have a student account, after I think fours years you have to pay full price for a subscription, but that's 3 years away so I'm not worried about it. Since I'm a mom now I also take part in Amazon Mom and I love getting wipes and diapers for 20% off. It has been worth it to me so far. I also get my dog food from there but I can get it for the same price in town, it's more of a convenience thing. If I didn't have the babe not sure how much my account would get used.
bk1 - how do you add people to your account? I was debating canceling because I don't use prime that much, but if I can share it with someone, it might be worth it...

I love the video streaming. A lot of the Prime TV streaming is the same as Netflix, but it seems like Amazon has a better Prime movie selection than Netflix does. Plus, I'm a total sucker for the free two day shipping. We do almost all of our holiday shopping using the Prime shipping and the Lightning Deals.

Do you by any chance have a baby registry through amazon? I do, and I just added Amazon Mom on free with my prime, and will now get 15% completion discount on the registry, instead of 10%. Just wanted to let you know in case you have one with them, or wanted to make one just for the discount!

Thanks for letting me know! I will have to make one

We got the free trial when we got our Kindle. We ordered like, 1 thing with it, haha. I used the book service thing but didn't like that it only gives you one book per month. I think the lending library is different though maybe? I can't remember. That feature just wasn't worth it for us, and neither was the streaming (we use Netflix). I may look into it again when we start needing baby stuff, but even then I can't see it being worth it for us TBH. Maybe at $70 or whatever it was before, but now that it's more I don't know. I didn't know you could share it though.. wonder if we could find someone to go in on it with!

I love prime! It's good for gifts and really just about anything else...I don't think we have many things we "usually" order, just a hodgepodge of stuff. You can find just about anything on there and a lot of times the prices are good/better than elsewhere. Recently purchases have included makeup, packaging tape, polo for DH.
I actually don't really buy any household everyday type supplies though.
