So my dr wanted to test my thyroid because I have been working out, dieting (by dieting I mean eating healthy keeping calories to about 1300 a day) drinking water etc. And I haven't lost an ounce in 8 months AND I am exhausted. I should feel good. I do weight training and cardio, and my diet is 90% clean all week with a few cheats on the weekends.
I had the blood work done and waiting to hear back but I have this spot on the sorta left side of my neck that if I touch it its tender. my friend said that is where my thyroid is.
So I called me doctor and am waiting to hear back (they said he'd call me tomorrow when the results come in) but if you have thyroid issues is this normal for this tender spot?

Your thyroid gland is right below the Adams apple area, on the front of your neck.
When mine is enlarged, it is very much in that front and center area. Not to a side at all, this is not to say that isn't what yours is. I hope you figure something out. Thyroid disease is the suck, but once it's managed life becomes so much easier.

If you're doing that much in terms of lifting and cardio, it's possible you're not seeing a loss due to the extremely low number of calories you're eating. Have you tried to bump up your calorie intake? 1300 is generally not enough.
Your thyroid is actually butterfly shaped and lays across the center of your throat, about a fingers width down from your adam's apple and on either side of center.
