Does he take a pacifier? I would probably try this instead. I've seen them at several stores.

I wouldn't, maybe just for a picture or something but I would be worried you'd turn your back and it would be in his mouth.

I would but if you're nervous maybe just for pictures or draw it on? That night get very messy though..

My 8 month old would rip it off and eat it in about 2.4 seconds.
It'd be fine for a picture but not much longer.
I don't think they're unsafe as much as a giant PITA that won't stay on.

This is the camp I'm in. For $1 or $2 at Party City, you're not out much if you slap it on for a photo and then it comes off.
