Heading to CA this afternoon

What a whirlwind 24 hours. DD and I are heading to see my parents instead of the family vacation due to my dad's illness. He is getting a cardiac catheterization today to see if they get to do minimally or maximally invasive valve replacement surgery. My phone died, so I spend 2 hours getting a new one yesterday.

DH is staying home, but ferrying DD to me at work so we can jet over to the airport from here. He DD fed last night and helped start the packing process. He also lined up a rental car for me, including a car seat. Love that man.

My dad has an amazing sense of humor and outlook on all of this. He messaged us all to let us know the tentative schedule, then ended with, "the schedule is set in warm butter."

Can't wait to see him tomorrow.
