Mine is free, but I pay about $600/month to have DH on my plan. When we have kids it'll be closer to $1000/month.
We have a $1500 deductible for each of us, $20 office visits, $50 for a specialist visit, and an additional $250 deductible each for prescriptions. Blah.
We pay $356 per month for the both of us so $178 per person for a high deductible plan with no dental and no vision. We work for my family's small business and have to carry our own insurance. We jokingly call it our "only if you cut off your arm" insurance.
DH is active duty military, and we're both on Tricare Prime.
I will soon be adding my company's policy so that I can be dual covered. (no point in having DH dual covered - he's required to go to the MTF, as far as I know, although I should confirm that) I think it'll be low-cost, somewhere around $40-50 for me alone, and with Tricare as secondary, all of the copays and deductibles will be picked up my Tricare. I just get more flexibility with my employer's plan.

My premium is around $64 a month but with "health activity incentive discounts" (i.e., being a non-smoker, taking a health survey and declaring a PCP) I only pay $14 a month. Dental is another $35 or so.
I think DH pays around $150-180 a month for his health insurance through his job.
Self employed. Pre Obamacare, mine was around 550/month. Now it is 295/month! DH is also self employed. His is around 150/month, but he has a higher deductible.
For those of you with really high costs, is that employer sponsored or individual? If individual, why is it so much higher than mine? Does it vary that much by state?

$183/month for dd's high deductible health insurance that is separate from my employer. my firm picks up 100% of the tab for me but any dependents are at full premium price - $500 for dd alone A MONTH !!!!

I have similar questions! I covered myself on an HSA plan for $75/mo. Are kids that expensive? Sheesh.

My H and I split up this year. I am on my own ($44/biweekly) and he and DS are on his ($100 biweekly). It was cheaper to do it this way than have a family on either of ours.
The crazy thing is that I work for a healthcare organization and DH works for a global construction/contractor company and his benefits are better than mine (and cheaper!)
We pay around $170 a month for a family on an high deductible plan ($3000 family deductible, 80/20 coinsurance, $6000 max OOP). We also put $ into our HSA every month and I think we get $600 a year from H's employer to the HSA also. ($800 next year, just in time for another gigantic L&D bill!).
Only H would be free, we pay to add DD & me. If we chose the traditional plan, it would be over $700 a month for all of us. I did the math and it's cheaper for us to do the HDHP and hit the OOP max than pay premiums + co-pays for the traditional plan.
Can't remember how much we pay for dental or vision, but those are nearly free and we get 2 free cleanings a year and pretty good coverage on anything else subject to a tiny deductible (like $150?). Once we have kids with braces we can upgrade to one that covers orthodontia. Vision covers an eye exam + free contacts every year.
Just over $200 for the whole family (unlimited dependents). I'm a fed and have very limited out of pocket costs as well.
ETA: we get dental and vision for free from DH's work.
May I ask which insurance you have? I know we've had a lot of medical this year between J's birth, NICU stay, appointments, my shoulder surgery, physical therapy. But we've had about $3000 in medical expenses out of pocket this year.

We use Kaiser. It is not for everyone but after having BCBS and Aetna in the past I really like it. Urgent care is included and we just call and they make an appointment and we can get in after hours, appointments are scheduled online as well as prescriptions. All medical records are online and appointments are really easy to get. We have the lower of the two options (lower premiums but higher co-pays) but it still really works for us. We are really close to one of their nice facilities though.
I pay around $205/month for my health insurance. H pays about $140 for his, plus another $30 for dental and vision (which I don't have). We both have high deductible plans.
I answered for just the premium, which is $135/month. We add $200 to the HSA. We have a high deductible, but I know we still have it good compared to many.
I'm a little bit blown away by these costs. Pre-Obama care I was self-insured with my exH and kids and we paid around $800 with a low-ish deductible and out of pocket costs. Now I'm on an employer plan where the costs are shared, so even if we paid the full premium, it would be less than $700 per month. Do costs vary by state or something? I'm very curious about this.
yes, premium costs vary by where you live. I am in NY and it is different for each county in the state !!
DH and I both have free health insurance through our employers, but we pay for dental - mine is $36/month and I think his is $25. We pay $190/month for DS to be on his plan; it would be $250 to add him to mine, and the insurance coverage is pretty much identical.
Premiums for the family are covered 100% by my husband's employer. I get $100/month cash-in-lieu for waiving insurance through my employer. However, my husband's plan is a HDHP with a deductible of $1500/$3000, so we put the extra money that I get into the HSA.
IDK if I should have voted. My current insurance is $192 per month, but it's a plan from the healthcare.gov exchange.
It's basically emergency only insurance - my deductible is so high that I feel like I can't use it unless I'm having a serious health issue. I think it's $3500 per person or something similar that I'll never meet unless I get super sick/injured. Although my BC prescription was free, so that's cool.
When I was on an employer plan it was about $85/month for just me, and I had a $200/year deductible.
ETA:
One visit to the hospital and you'll meet that deductible. (Not that I wish that for you, obviously, but shit costs money.) I haven't added up my hospital bills pre-insurance for 2014, but I'm guessing they're $50K or more. And I didn't even get *super* sick, just had a baby and fractured my ankle.

Oh, that's totally why I have health insurance! The penalty would be much cheaper than the monthly payment, but I want to be covered in case something major happens. It just makes me sad to pay so much and still feel like I can't go to a doctor unless things are dire. I know I should just join the club of millions of other people in the same boat, and be thankful I am and always have been better off than many since I've had good healthcare in the past... but I still hate it. I have been spoiled.

Do you mind sharing what kind of policy you have? Sorry to be nosy but DH is self employed and my employer doesn't offer health insurance because it's a small company. We have been paying $350 a month through Anthem for the both of us. It was a pretty good plan. Now the plan is ending October 31st and our new plan will be $732 a month with far higher deductibles and a way, way smaller network. It's also converting from a PPO to an HMO. I'm really trying to find something better, cheaper, anything. I'm in Virginia and I know the costs and plans vary by state.
