I had to put the those flats away after major achilles issues landed me in sports medicine/pt. I think the shoes made it much worse. I've rejoined the ugly shoe club and went back to Danskos. I've also had luck with Clarks.
These are amazingly supportive (especially in the arch), and I think they are pretty cute on. I have purple, but have been considering more colors. Since I like them and the are supportive, I'm pretty sure they will get a thumbs down around here
I have a pair of flats from Clarks that I love! I can wear them for 10 hour days and my feet feel fine. They are old, but I think these are a similar style and support inside looks the same as what I have.
I recently bought these, and they are the first shoes I have just been able to wear out of the box for hours on end with no problems in YEARS. They're not leather, but they're pretty inexpensive.
I like the Cole Haan Air Bacara flats, but there's a big difference between "comfortable" and "supportive." I think they're comfortable, but they're definitely not supportive. I just don't need much support. Hard to give suggestions though based on generalities... 'wreaking havoc' with your feet doesn't say much about what you need.
Well, if you like the look of the Payless shoes you'll probably hate my shoe recommendations. I prefer the look of structured flats with a pointed toe. My favorites are the JCrew Viv Bow Flats and the Ivanka Trump Laura Flats. I've worn both with jeans on the weekends or for business casual work days.
If you buy something with a structured sole, you can try to size up and add an insole for extra comfort if you're having foot problems.
I have these, and I love them. I can walk around in the city all day, and not feel the bumps in the ground the way I do with cheaper flats. They're dr. scholls. www.zappos.com/dr-scholls-franca-chocolate-bar
I'm going to buy some more Dr Scholls shoes b/c of how much I love these on.

YES. A thousand times yes. A ton of the shoes that people here have recommended as comfortable are a no-go for me. I have a high arch and a chronic forefoot injury. I have to have significant arch support to offload weight from my forefoot.
Another vote for Clark's. Lots of fugly styles. Some that are moderately not hideous.
