We don't have a crib. We are trying to sell our 2 bed house and didn't want more stuff, plus she won't need it for a while.
She sleeps in a rnp, but when will she grow out of that? Heck, I forget when babies even start to roll. Memory loss man.
If our house doesn't sell we will pull it off the market in jan when I go back to work. Cannot handle that stress. I am kind of leaning toward a mini crib. Anyone have one? We have bedding for a reg crib, but the mini would save us s0ace, but I'm not sure how long that would last...
DD slept in the RNP until about 4 months, I think. Then she started trying to sit herself up in there. (She was also a big baby, like 80-90% for weight and 90% for length at that point.)

Exactly WSS^ Could you get away with a PnP after that?
Colin slept in a Pack N Play for 5 months. We knew we were moving back to the US, so we waited until we got here to buy his crib. The bonus is that he's always been happy in the Pack N Play (so travel is easy), and the transition to a crib was easy.
ETA: By 5 months she'll probably have to sleep on the bottom part. I think the weight limit for the bassinet (suspended top part) is 15 pounds. C hit that at about 5 months, and he's fairly average-sized. He was out of the Rock N Play by about 4 weeks though...he technically fit (weight limit is like 25 pounds), but was squished and uncomfortable.
DS switched to the crib at 5 months. That is later than I would have preferred but we had to wait until he could roll before he could be happy in the crib.
Mini crib owner here. We just lowered it last Sunday when DD figured out standing in the crib is a thing. She does look silly tall when laying in there, but I plan to use it for as long as I can.
She has a regular crib at grandma's. I haven't noticed any difference in her sleep due to the size.
We had an RNP but stopped having her sleep overnight in it by 2 months due to reflux and feeding issues. DD started trying to backwards leap out of the RNP at 5 months. She'd push with her legs on the bottom bar and propel herself backwards. She was a mere 12 lbs when we had to say goodbye to the RNP. The weight limit is like 25 lbs for that thing!

How did you think the mattress was? That's my only concern- it seems hard, which I know is good, but thin, you know?

@mrswindycity
We replaced it with this one from Amazon. It was like $34 when we bought it...not sure why it's $55 now. You should also be able to find it, or something similar, at BRU.

My kids slept in the cheapo graco pack n play. DD had a bed, but was forever crying in it, so we eventually got rid of it when she was about 1.5 years. She didn't sleep in it more than 2 dozen times.
DD slept in the PnP until 24 months, and DS was 3.25, when he potty trained.
A lot of my friends with 3 and 4 kids have said,"oh, I didn't get a crib for number 3 or 4, since you didn't have one for you kids. Wish I thought of it sooner." It's not like you can use all that decorative stuff, especially bumpers, and my kids loved to snuggle into the sides. The PnP is way more comfortable and safer for that than a crib.

DD3 is 4 months and is still sleeping in the PNP bassinet since her room is still under construction. The weight limit is 16 lbs and she's currently 12 lbs so she'll be in it for awhile still.
We uses the RNP until 16 or so weeks, which happened to be when the four-month wakeful hit. We then put her in the PNP, outfitted with a better mattress. That was a disaster. But again, hard to tell if it was a disaster because of the PNP itself or because of the four month insanity. After a week of the PNP, we set up her crib, which is a mini crib (Davinci Emily). We like the crib a lot. Many of my friends (urban area with small apartments) use mini cribs. My neighbor has a Babyletto. The Stokke crib also is popular but it's really expensive (although can last a long time and is probably way better quality than what I bought).

DS slept in the newborn napper portion of his PNP for about 2 months, then we moved him over to the Armsreach co-sleeper for another 2ish months. He was in his crib (boy has always liked wide-open spaces and hated the swaddle) by 4 months. We all slept better when he transitioned to his own room.
