Oh, pinkroses, I forgot to tell you that I can watch Top Chef after all! My sister has some device that lets me control her cable box from any Internet connection via an app. So I can watch all my shows On Demand! I'm a little embarrassed at how happy that makes me, but I've been binge-watching all kinds of stuff at night (The Good Wife, Avengers, Big Bang Theory, Nashville, etc.).
I haven't actually watched the TC episodes yet but will be getting around to it soon! I've been avoiding your post in the meantime
Awesome! little stuff like that definitely makes it easier to be away from home. I only watched the first episode so far, but hope to catch up tonight or tomorrow.
Oh wow, you totally made the right decision! The other place was nice too, but this place is amazing! I'm not sure if it is actually bigger, but it looks much bigger and more modern. And it is probably worth it for the patio alone, the outdoor space will make the whole place feel bigger. I'm so happy for you! Don't worry about the money, you should love your home, especially since you are in a new place and still making friends and figuring everything out. It is your sanctuary and it should make you happy.

She said what I was thinking. In much clearer English.
Whatever is going to make you happy during this transition is worth it. Besides, you're such a responsible person with money on the regular so forfeiting the deposit from #1 is a small price to pay for enjoying where you live.
