So we got our sod delivered yay! I figured I would post a almost final picture of the yard. Now we just need a fence. Eventually like maybe next year, we want to put some kind of patio over there.
Also, I really need to hire someone to take away all that rock and the random ibeam we found in our yard.
Do you guys think I could sell the ibeam on craigs list or should I just hire someone to pick it up?
I would have buried them all in the yard. Well maybe not the I-Beam, the scrap man would have snatched that up in a hot minute.
Ha, yeah they are too big to bury in the yard. I mean they are like 2feet by 2 feet or something. So HUGE, but i guess we wouldn't have needed so much top soil lol. But then we would have had to move like 60 huge rocks lol.
We were thinking about selling the ibeam for scrap, but the $$ isn't worth the effort it takes to get it to wherever we needed to take it.
Thanks! You know, I am not entirely sure yet lol. That are is about 17 X 25 feet. My initial plan was to do the whole thing a patio (we have a "large" grassy yard on the other side of the house). But now I am not sure.We still have to put in a fence, so I sort of want to see how things play out when the fence goes in..just to get more of a feel for the space. It is kind of an odd space for a patio since it isn't connected to the house (as in you can't walk out the door directly onto the patio). But I want to be able to put a table and what not over there (since we don't have any other area in our area where it could go). Might end up just putting table on grass, but not sure.

So like the lower portion would be hardscaped? That's what I assumed, since you sodded the upper. Can you park a car there? If you're going to sit there you'll need shade and pretty plants to look at.

Looks good with sod. So, with the black fence for your backyard, do you still want a fence at the wall area? I think it would look good without a fence at the front there.

The lower portion in front of the wall? That is actually our front yard. About 3 feet in front of that wall is our driveway, it is kind of hard to tell from the picture. We were originally planning on putting a patio where the sod just went in (but this would be in the future). We could not afford it now and didn't want to just leave the leveled area dirt since it would wash away and be a big mess.
downtoearth and mrs.jacinthe - The wrought iron/black fence is our back fence (owned by the neighbor). Anything you see behind that fence is actual our neighbors backyard. So our actually back yard is only like five feet wide (from the house to the back fence) and our main yard is the two yards on the side of the house.
So you can see the area to the right of the garage is where we built the retaining wall. We are putting a fence across that so we can enclose in our front yard (plus it is a code violation w/out a fence). We have no seperation between our back/side yard. Putting the fence in there will allow us to enclose in the yard so DS can't escape (well except he knows how to open the front gate lol).
