Skinny jeans are just too fitted for me, if that makes sense. Also, my friend told me I can't "pull off" skinny jeans because I am a mother and over 30. I actually didn't mind the way they looked on me, but maybe my friend was just being a jerk? It's been known to happen.
Your friend is a jerk. All of my mom friends wear them and we are all 30 or over.

Your friend is an asshole. I am a mom over 30 and you will have to pry my skinny jeans from my cold, dead hands.
Also couldn't get into Breaking Bad. Slightly chewy bacon. I used to hate skinny jeans, and I think 15 years from now we will look back and say WTF was everyone wearing? But I have some and I love them with boots.
This is probably not an UO around here, but it seems like it is according to my FB page. I think it is so tacky to set up a gofundme account for yourself. In the past few months I have seen them on my FB for: - co-pays for a lap band surgery - sending their kids to summer camp - moving expenses (goal of $10K WTF??) - new baby expenses - lost my job expenses - car repairs
I will gladly donate to anyone having kids with medical issues or things like that, but the other stuff, seriously?
What are you wearing them with? I have yet to see anyone look bad in a flowy longish shirt, skinny jeans and boots. I feel like it works universally.
No. I have freakishly short legs. If I wear skinny pants with a shirt that covers my ass and boots, all you see is 5 inches of fat thigh and I look even shorter than I already am.
Stop! I'm 5' and I think it looks good. I'm sure you would look great.

My cousin set one up for Reese---I still feel horribly guilty promoting it. Luckily most of our medical expenses are covered through insurance, but it is all the other stuff that people don't really expect; gas, meals in the hospital, being on leave of work. I know people that promote their page all the time, I just can't do it. I just hate asking people for more money. LOL.
I LOVE traveling with our kids. They actually love it too. We do try to wear them out, but we stay in a hotel about every 8-12 weeks...so used to it I guess?
We had a friend set up a fund me for her mom to fly out to visit her. No one is sick or impaired...just "hey, give me travel money." What!?!?
My uo: well water sucks. City water for life. (This brought to you by my VERY colored experience at our rental house.)

Friend = Jerk
I love skinny jeans, it took me a while to find ones that didn't make me look like all hip/thigh, but now I like them way better than my straight leg or boot cut jeans. I am a mother and over 30 too! My favorite pair are from Lucky Jeans, the girl that worked there and convinced me to try them was probably 17. The funny thing is, my argument was that I was too old and a mom, she told me anyone can wear them. I think they are called the Lolita Skinny, but the great thing is they are more of a mid-rise so when I go to my mom group and get on the floor to play with J my crack isn't hanging out . Cuz crack kills.
I still wear my boot cut jeans when I wear my sneakers

Nooo! Our well water is delicious! Oh it's so good. I can't even drink our town's water, like I hate having to refill my water bottle at the gym because then it has the public water smell/taste in it unless I scrub it like crazy when I get home. Blech!

I'm short in the legs, too. I thought they looked okay. I guess I won't invite her shopping again! She's been known to dress me in stupid stuff when we go shopping. A pair of white gaucho pants come to mind...

fancynewbeesly this is completely different! That's why I threw in the disclaimer at the end. For example, a woman I know just had a baby with a heart condition and her husband made a page saying, "yes, her expenses are covered, but I am taking time off work, hotels, gas, etc. etc." and I happily donated. In your case someone ELSE set it up so it's even less like that. I understand if you're uncomfortable promoting the page bc it's essentially like you're asking for money. But I think most people would agree that there is nothing bad or tacky about it.
Well water is hit or miss. I've had really really good and really really bad. And in between. Right now it tastes fine, but is hard. At least it's not sulfur-ish. Yuck.

We have lived here 5 months and LAST WEEK, they got it to finally be clear (from BROWN) and stop smelling like death. That's $50 a month in water I can save. A lot of our clothes are stained red and the tub and toilets are permanently stained. I know it's like the worst case scenario...but...never again.

Never trust someone who tries to make you buy gaucho pants. Unless it's for pajamas.
Skinny jeans are not universal. If you're heavy above the waist and have skinny legs you look like a caramel apple. (Ie: me)
The idea that a trend should be followed by everyone is awful. I want to start having the trend where the fashionable thing to wear is what fits you and your body well.

Shut it! You don't look like a caramel apple. I have seen you in person. You manage to make sneakers and sweat shirts look great so I know you could rock skinny jeans if you wanted....you just don't want to and that's fine.

Ok. I'm done whining.
Oh man, yea, that's awful. I guess we're lucky then that our water is the best ever. I'm glad they got it fixed though!!!

Friends don't let friends wear white gaucho pants in public.

I have a friend built that way and she looks amazing in skinny jeans! She does layers on top to help minimize her waist and rocks it. I agree with you that people should wear what fits and they feel confident in but I don't like the idea that a certain style is off limits to a certain body type (the exception here being string bikinis-no one over the age of 20 regardless of build should be wearing one).

Yup, I posted last week about my friend who set up a gofundme page so her and her best friend could go to Europe together. Their goal is $8000.
